As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

My Baby is Back Where He Belongs!!!... Thursday, May 17

My hubby came back from the Philippines today!!!♥

Ya to no more spooning with 4-legged friends.
Ya to no more solo conversations.
Ya to the resume of daily massages.
Ya to the resume of midday coffee dates.
Ya to the resume of tickle-time tap outs.

I waited all day for him, hoping and convinced that he'd walk in when I was least expecting it... so I expected it all day.  He arrived shortly after midnight and when he walked in the door it was like a race to see who could jump on him first -- Pyen Chi, Balboa or me.

He wasn't as tanned as I had anticipated but also was much more excited and happy to be home than I had expected.  He was grinning from ear to ear and he kept on squeezing me so hard with his I-miss-you hugs.  It felt so good to have him back home with me.  While he was in the Philippines, he kept in contact with me via Kakao text messages -- at 9am and 9pm, and he often emailed me.

... and then came the gifts;)

I knew he had bought me gifts but honestly I've always though guys usually fail in the gift department.  They tend to buy things they think us girls like but things we don't usually like.  But much to my surprise... very much to my surprise actually... Snickers bought some really awesome gifts!  He had bought me this beautiful Filipino white summer sun dress.  He knows my love for mangoes from the Philippines so he bought me several bags of dried mango -- super delish!  I'm definitely going to have to hide these (aka hoard these from ever sharing them... hahaha).  He also picked me up a beautiful shell bracelet and perfume.  Perfume?!  Yes, perfume.  I opened the box and then undid the lid of it with caution, not really expecting to like the smell that was about to greet my nose.  It's perfect!!!  Dolce & Gabbana's Light Blue, my new ultimate favorite perfume.

Sounds funny to say but honestly I felt so proud that his gifts were a perfect match for me.  In the past it's definitely been a hit and miss with his gifts but today he hit the nail right on the head.  He totally gets me now and I love that!

As for the rest of the evening, early morning actually, we sat around all cuddled up in each other's arms, taking about his stories of diving school in the Philippines and whatnot.  He got stung by a lot of jellyfish and now apparently I'm a pervert for offering to pee on his legs.  I didn't end up peeing on his legs but he still doesn't believe me that this is an actual home remedy.  He thinks I'm trying to pull a fast one over him... hahaha.
