As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Friday, December 23

1. Definitely feeling like I’m running out of brain power to function at work and so my upcoming vacation couldn’t have come at a better time!
2. Possibly the last day teaching my elementary Peace class and so I was a bit uneasy about that. They’re my refreshing class at the end of my day. Sarah cried.
3. Met Tasha’s parents… they’re pretty cool despite the fact that she claims they totally over stress about things. Props to her dad for playing Santa at the elementary Christmas concert and getting attacked by all the hyper kids screaming “More candy!”
4. Tasha’s mom couldn’t have made it more real for me when she said, “I wanted so bad for her to walk through the door and she never did. So I promised myself that I’d never spend a Christmas without her.”
5. Jack from my Wisdom class through a fit and wouldn’t stop crying. When I questioned him all he said was “January 4th”…. January 4th is the day I return to teaching. I know I’m really going to miss my students…. They’re my kids!
6. Left school a bit teary-eyed cause today was the first day in weeks (well, what feels like years) that I’ve had a heart-to-heart conversation with Spazzy-K. I wanted to hug her because I realize we both have been really hurt due to this whole stupid situation.
7. Packed for my trip and am convinced that the only thing I didn’t pack was my kitchen sink.
8. A bunch of us staff members went to Ellie’s house for her party and that was a lot of fun. Sorry Jenny but we definitely had too much fun teasing you about sleeping outside! You’re a great sport about it all though.
9. Bah humbug… celebrating Christmas with Ryan turned into a bad rendition of “The Grinch”, with me being the Grinch. This sucks! Plans are to try again when I get back from Canada.
10. Packed my carry-on bag full of love letters written by my students.
