As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Saturday, December 17

1. Woke up super early, made myself breakfast, and then headed off to Seoul by myself to finish Christmas shopping. Bah-humbug!
2. Couldn't have possibly picked a colder day... ouch, the weather was brutal!
3. Met a very interesting shop keeper in Insadong who had once lived in London, Ontario, Canada. Fell for his smooth opening liner and ended up chatting with him for about 40 minutes.
4. Admitted that out of all the people this big black dude on the subway could have talked to, he had picked the worst one....me! Had we been in Toronto I wouldn't have totally punked him off but this is Korea and his cheesy line was just that.... cheesy.
5. Finished all my Christmas shopping with plenty of time still left in my day. Spent too much money, bought too many gifts, and still haven't had lunch. I'm exhausted!
6. Ran out of patience waiting for a taxi at the KTX taxi stand and so I decided to freeze my butt off and trek it home by foot. Am convinced that the Canadian weather has followed me here to Korea!
7. While waiting for my train at the Seoul KTX station, had an interesting conversation with this huge Korean man pimped out in a brown fur coat and what looked to be alligator skin shoes! Must admit that his choice in clothing was definitely more interesting than his conversation.
8. Met up with Ryan and some of his coworkers at some cozy little place called the Rooster.
9. Hmmm, interesting... at the Rooster there were two blankets that supposedly were made out of cats! Yes, that's right! It was a blanket consisting of 8 tabby cats sewn together! I was disturbed by it but overly curious and so I just had to touch it!
10. Am convinced I don't not like Americans.... just American men!

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Are wool socks and hockey night all we think of when we think of Canada?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.
