1. First day of 2006 and I started it by sleeping in.
2. Last full day in Canada and so I stuffed up on my last official Canadian breakfast. Definitely going to miss waking up to eggs with cheese!
3. Sat down to watch the movie "A Polish Wedding" but apparently these Polacks didn't meet my mom's "code of conduct" and so that movie hit the trash can pretty fast. Definitely a different breed of Polacks in that movie.
4. Packed all my stuff, well tried to anyways. Ran into a major problem.... too much stuff and too little space. Great.
5. Side note to self, next time don't agree to take on EVERYONE'S grocery list for Canada.
6. Spent part of my evening getting my parents to record messages to Ryan on my cell phone. Very cute!
7. Iain came by and visiting me for a bit. Saying good-bye to him is always impossible and always ends up with us standing at the doorway for another hour or so.
8. Sent my dad out to buy Smarties so that I could give Ryan some official Canadian chocolate. Thanks dad!
9. After everyone had gone to sleep, I walked around the house one last time. Flipped through some family photo albums and reminisced. It was nice.
10. Had my last night at my home in Whitby, Canada and realized I still haven't slept in my own bedroom. Tried to convince myself to stay up all night so I could crash on the plane but at about 2am my head hit the pillow and I was out like a light.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
What do you define as being your "home"?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
The family is one of nature's masterpieces.
-- George Santayana
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
