Highlights of my Day...Sunday July 31
1. Murphy's Law...an "important, please don't lose, one copy only" document that my director gave me, well...Daewoo peed on it!
2. Experienced first hand today that people have bigger mouths than their faces allow them to have...um, I won't mention names, they know who they are!
3. Still freaked out a bit about my trip to the DMZ and trying to comprehend it all.
4. Talk about dedication to my job...went into school today to prepare stuff for this week.
5. Went for a long walk with Daewoo and totally got caught in a massive down-pour....it ended right when we reached home!
6. Daewoo said his first words today, "Baaark barrrrrk". It wasn't clear but I think he meant to say "play with me".
7. Got my first Korean mosquito bite today and boy do these mosquitos have superpowers...the bite swelled up like an ant hill on my arm!
8. Dropped one of my old contacts and Daewoo ate it before it even hit the bathroom floor!
9. Paulo must be having a great time in Vegas cause I haven't heard from him today....maybe he got married in the drive-through.
10. My summer holidays are officially over in 52 minutes!!!

Highlights of My Day...Saturday July 30
1. Dyed my hair blacker than the black it already is.
2. Was almost tempted to dye Daewoo's hair black too cause no Korean baby has white hair!
3. Made a huge feast for dinner and sat around with Daewoo eating it together....pasta, tomatoes, carrots, and sausages...with a side order of milk for us both.
4. I am officially off wedding planning holidays as of today.
5. Took Daewoo for a late night walk. He started playing under some car and so now he's got black hair.
6. Tried to convince my dad that the internet isn't evil...wanted him to upgrade his msn so that he'll be able to see me on webcam.
7. Saw myself with bed-head on webcam and now know why he wouldn't want to upgrade his msn.
8. Celebrated Daewoo peeing on the paper by getting all excited..but so did he and so he ended up peeing again cause of all the excitement.
9. Got word that my mom reads my blog...now my readership is up from one to two! Does anyone else read it....come on, do I hear a third person?
10. What a life....I'm here paper training a one month old dog in Korea and my fiancee is in Vegas living it up!

Highlights of My Day...Friday July 29
1. Woke up at 4:30am to Daewoo using my ear as a chew toy. Took him for a walk and then had to get ready for the DMZ tour.
2. Was so excited about the tour only to find out that the tour company made a mistake and so we were on the wrong tour....still went with them though. Just didn't get the expected boat ride.
3. Got yelled at, repeatedly, by numerous soldiers in the DMZ for taking their picture....took their picture anyway.
4. Almost peed my pants when one of the soldiers yelled at me and then appeared to be coming towards me. I'd be in trouble if he caught me.
5. Got to see something so beautiful, so natural and so untouched.....the DMZ land that's infested with approximately 70,000 sky-dropped land mines. It was scary to comprehend all those mines but the land looked so lush and beautiful.
6. Traveled down the infratration tunnel #3 and that was pretty cool to see this once top secret tunnel to North Korea.
7. Took a lot of pictures that I know I wasn't allowed to take and got a huge adrenaline rush over it. Felt sad looking at the pictures later cause of the seriousness of the matter.
8. Came home to my own battlefield filled with Daewoo's little "land mines"...I think he was mad I had left him there.
9. Young-Un (guy who's taking over Mook's job) introduced me to some young guy at the gym and so I was bombarded by three young guys when I exited the gym. I called one of them "Adidas boy" cause him and I both wear Adidas hats...they had lots of giggles over that one. I think I may have a fan club now.
10. Mook's last shift at the gym...felt bad for him because his boss dropped by and instead of saying good-bye he totally picked on Mook's cleaning.
10. Was suppose to go out and celebrate Dave's 40th birthday but he crashed early and so I went out with Tasha to cheer myself up cause I'll really miss Mook at the gym.

Highlights of My Day...Thursday July 28
1. Woke up and rolled into a puddle of pee that Daewoo made....what a way to start my day.
2. Some lady freaked out on Daewoo and hit him on the head with her umbrella so I freaked out on her. I yelled at her in Korea and I think my Korean shocked her more than the dog.
3. Had my last supper with Mook at the kimbop restaurant....he leaves Cheonan tomorrow.
4. Hung out all day with Daewoo and I think he's on the verge of being officially paper trained!
5. Was suppose to end my wedding planning holidays today but took an extra day....Saturday I'll be off.
6. Found Daewoo killing the other roommates. Good boy!
7. Took a shower after training and turned to find Daewoo trying to help me shower by licking my legs. Thanks big guy.
8. Tried to make Tasha's dog bond with mine but ended up threatening him and telling him to beware of Daewoo, "you wait till he's bigger....you'll be an appetizer for him!" I think Tasha's dog has 'small-dog syndrome'.
9. Bought a funky flashy toy for Daewoo and ended up playing with it more than him.
10. Got word that Paulo might be visiting me sooner than expected...mid August.

Highlights of My Day...Wednesday July 27
1. Just in the nick of time, I smuggled Daewoo in my bag right when the hostel hostess came walking in my room....talk about good timing!
2. Went grocery shopping with Daewoo in a handbag....freaked out the stock-girl though when his head popped out the bag!
3. Spent about 4 hours in a car travelling home with a hyper 6yr old who, if it wasn't for her size and age, I would have left her at the gas station! I don't know what was worse, her rubbing against my sunburned body, her constant poking me when I was trying to nap, or her sticking her feet in my face.
4. Made a public vow to NEVER go for a long trip with 6yr old unless they're mine, which means if it ever happens again it won't be soon!
Got my multiple entry visa and so it's official....I'm going to North Korea on Friday.
5. It's official, my first juicy love letter has been sent in the mail from Mr. Pilo!
6. Gave Daewoo his first shower and ended up getting more wet then him.
7. Daewoo made his first public appearance on webcam....to Arpi!
8. I've decided that tomorrow I'll return from wedding planning holidays.
9. Trained hard at the gym but found myself almost in tears cause of my clothing rubbing against my sunburned shoulders....ouch!
10. Realized I totally slacked off on my diet these past two days in Busan and so I gave it one last go at it, ate 3 ice cream popsicles, and told myself that I'll return to my diet tomorrow!

Highlights of My Day...Tuesday July 26
1. Woke up and lost the status as "Lobster Girl"...sunburn turned into a suntan!
2. Did basically nothing but collect seashells, swim and suntain...and loved every minute of it too!
3. By the end of the day, I regained the title "Lobster Girl".
4. Repeatedly got in trouble by the life guard for swimming out too far. (I get the impression not a lot of Koreans know how to swim and so they're really cautious)
5. These two Korean boys latched on to Tasha and me while we were in the tubes. They thought we made good diving boards and so they repeatedly climbed over us and jumped into the water.
6. Made a promise to myself that when Paulo and I have a kid, I'm totally going to let them walk buck-naked on the beach. I'll be the proud mom taking pictures instead of being just an on-looker.
7. Thought it'd be funny to run with the Busan police as they trained on the beach...not so funny to them though.
8. Caught on camera some crazy dude stripping down to wash his pants in the salty ocean late at night...then I got caught by his buddies taking his picture. It's one of those 'you had to be there' situations.
9. Although I admit, it's not the wisest of decisions, given the situation, I am now the owner of a Korean baby......Daewoo. Mind you, he's got four legs and I bought him for $20 from a man on a beach!
10. Our plan flopped and so we had to smuggle Daewoo into the hostel and keep him a secret or risk being thrown out.

Highlights of my Day...Monday July 25
1. First day of holidays and I had to be up at 5am so I could catch the 6am KTX train.
2. Swam in the ocean for my second time and it was as warm as my muchly missed bath tub.
3. Made friends with some of the local little boys who tried to push me further out in the ocean.
4. Had a little Korean girl so excited to talk to us that she peed herself right in front of us all....caught on tape too.
5. Thought I was smart by picking up sunscreen for today.....until I figured out it wasn't waterproof!
6. Got fried from the sun so now I look like a lobster with black hair....and I don't mind one bit! Better lots of sun than no sun.
7. Represented the foreign woman in Busan and did it stylin' a brown bikini....and unfortunetly, my cold sore too.
8. Today was the day I was suppose to get aquire my Korean name and it still hasn't been decided upon....so I'm "No Name" (like President's Choice).
9. Staying at a pretty cool hostel in Busan that we totally lucked out on, good stuff....first time at a hostel too!
10. Cheated with my diet and am heading to bed with a tummy ache.

Highlights of My Day...Sunday July 24
1. Measured myself for training purposes and realized that I've lost 4 inches off my waist since I started my intense training.
2. Officially accepted the label as "the bad fiancee".
3. Finally figured out how to properly order 3 eggs on my bimbi-boop instead of messing up the order like last time.
4. Totally stoked about my trip to Busan tomorrow!
5. Drove my roommates crazy with the cranked air conditioner....they're literally dying from it.
6. Figured out how to cook sausages without burning them.
7. Went to LotteMart and had a field day taste-testing any and everything they allowed me too!
8. Still on holidays from wedding planning.
9. Made a list of what lifestyle I like better, Korea or Canada.....Korea won!
10. Sat outside and watched the free live drama outside my apartment...three drunk Korean men who couldn't even stand up but were trying to fight each other. It all stopped when some girl started crying....just goes to show you that no matter how tough men think they are, they're always weak when it comes to women.

Highlights of My Day...Saturday July 23
1. Woke up with a "new roomate" in my apartment....long story!
2. Stayed in bed till 3pm to celebrate the start of my holidays.
3. Realized I have been officially labeled the "bad fiancee" when I had to call Paulo and he still didn't call me back.
4. Without even trying it on, I bought a wicked bikini and later found out that it fits perfectly.....training is proving itself to be effective!!!
5. Surprised myself with how dedicated I am to my training and diet when I refused ice cream! This is a miracle!
6. My new friend at the gym never called me for homemade bimbi-boop and I couldn't find her number :(
7. Trained really hard on legs today and now I'm walking like I just got off a horse.
8. Didn't hear the honking over my MP3 player and so I got caught behind the bug-sprayer truck so I had a heck of a time holding my breath and making a run for it. (I must add here that this truck's spray is illegal in most other countries cause of its' toxic chemicals).
9. I'm pretty sure that there's a rumour at the gym that Mook and I are a couple, or at least more than friends....Minseo saw me there late one night after close and then today Mook and I got into what must have looked like a "couple fight". Whenever Mook talkes to me there's certain people that always direct their attention our way.
10. Went out with Patricia and just had good old "girl talk" and good times. Biggest joke of the night was the fact that we both have ex's named Dave who are VERY similar in character. Note to all girls....beware of Dave!

Highlights of My Day...Friday July 22
HAD ONE OF THE MOST STRESSFUL DAYS POSSIBLE BECAUSE.....
1. Woke up and didn't have a clue where I was, thought I was back in highschool.
2. Woke up with a coldsore cause of lack of sleep.
3. Two of my kindergarten students went missing and pure panic and fear swept over me cause I thought someone took them....several of us searched the whole building only to find that they were hiding in another classroom.
4. Spent the rest of the day with a huge headache cause of John and Joel hiding but also spent the rest of the day being the source of the helper teachers' joke. "Amy Teacher....no Amy Mother." It was funny to a certain extent but it didn't help my headache.
5. After spending so much time on Thursday preparing a letter for the speech contest, 20mins left to class I decided I wanted to totally change it and there were errors....saw the perfectionist in me with work come out.
6. Was told yesterday that I should have prepared vacation homework for my kindergarten and found out today that they weren't joking. Who gives a 3yr old homework, mind you, who sends a 3yr old to school?!
7. Despite my headache, I went out to "Zed Rock" for co-worker Jay's going-away party and totally didn't really that "Zed Rock" meant overly-loud, annoying rock music....and they had an in-your-face band to top it all off, perfect!!!
8. Missed two late calls from Paulo and so now I'm sure to be labeled "the bad fiancee".
9. Regardless of the innocence of the situation, bound to be the source of some office gossip cause I let my co-workers leave in a taxi with me standing there with Mook at 2am.
10. Came home so late and was so hungry. Had no food in my house so I ended up eating kimchi on crackers....you know you're turning Korean when you satisfying with late night kimchi!
BUT...the main highlight of my day is that today I start my much-needed vacation!!!

Highlights of My Day...Thursday July 21
1. Got into a verbal and somewhat physical fight with a store sales lady over a bathing suit and it ended in me yelling "when you grow breasts then you can insult mine!" Oh boy, I can't believe I said that out loud. No worries though, she didn't understand me.
2. Got my hair cut today and was asked if I am Korean!
3. After training I went to order bimbi-boop with three eggs and instead, they gave me three eggs but ALSO three bimbi-boops. Thankfully I found extra cash in my bag.
4. Was big hit with Dave and Tasha when I showed up at their apartments with two extra bimbi-boop.
5. Still on holidays from wedding talk.
6. One more day till I'm on summer holidays!
7. Phoned all my afternoon students tonight for phone teaching and heard half getting prompts from their parents in the background.
8. Looked at Minseo while training and got uncontrollable giggles remembering how he so proudly did the splits the other day.....not really an attractive tough guy thing to do, the splits that is.
9. Trained way too hard on arms today and couldn't straighten out my arms....it was great! I was like that tough guy who's arms can't touch his side.
10. Started a mini-food fight with my kindergartens at lunch!

8. Looked at Minseo while training and got uncontrollable giggles remembering how he so proudly did the splits the other day.....not really an attractive tough guy thing to do, the splits that is.
9. Trained way too hard on arms today and couldn't straighten out my arms....it was great! I was like that tough guy who's arms can't touch his side.
10. Started a mini-food fight with my kindergartens at lunch!

Highlights of My Day...Wednesday July 20
1. Wore the third and last pair of my new pants only to sit in water and have the kindergartens joke around saying "Amy Teacher pee pee her pants".....man, I'm not having good luck with these new pants!
2. Countdown continues till my holidays....2 more days!!!
3. Was so excited about making sail boats with my kindergartens and they ended up totally sinking! I think I was more disappointed than the kids.
4. Got accused of getting chapped lips from too much kissing....kissing the kindergartens on the cheek that is!
5. Had show and tell with my kindergartens and when it came to Jenny's show and tell she pulled out a paper that wrote "I love Amy Teacher" in big letters!
6. Admitted that I have an addiction.....to this specific Korean soap-opera....found myself running home to make sure I didn't miss any.
7. Saw a grown Korean man (the "gym hottie") do the splits and it grossed me right out...he's done this before but I think he's proud of it.
8. Was told to watch what I eat cause "Paulo won't want me if I'm fat"....thought of this and had to laugh considering I'm one of the smallest (probably the fittest too) employeed by this man!
9. Realized that after eating rice for about 150 straight days, I'm still not sick of it....maybe it's not possible.
10. Freaked out about the "roommate" situation. Came home, TOTALLY scrubbed down the bathroom and when I finally thought I killed them all, inhaled one through my nostril!

Highlights of My Day...Tuesday July 19
1. Tried on another pair of my new pants only for my kindergarten students to pull too hard on them and so they ripped....ah, pure panic cause I didn't know where the rip was.
2. Complained about the smell of the food at lunch and then realized instead that it was one of my student. He had pooped his pants.
3. After cleaning my whole house the other day, my "roomates" are now desparately drowning themselves in my dirty juice cup from last night....only available food.
4. Phoned one of my friends in Canada and totally confused her with the news that I'm engaged.
5. Still on holidays from wedding planning.
6. Four more days till my official summer holidays start!
7. Got invited out for homemade bimbi-boop on Saturday by that lady at the gym who gave me her number...my new friend Jin-Suk.
8. Got mistaken as a Korean student and pushed towards a bus when I cut a line of highschool kids leaving school.
9. Discovered one of my kindergarten students eating my chapstick and had to laugh cause that's what I use to do,...okay, I still do...but only alittle bit!

Highlights of My Day...Monday July 18
1. Finally stopped discovering mud in my ears today.
2. Highly anticipated pants came in only for me to rip the pocket when I first tried them on.
3. Fasinated my kindergarten students with competing for the biggest sore....I won with my mud wrestling abused legs.
4. Had another dance off with Britney Spears and her "Greatest Hits" before going to the gym.
5. Saw first hand how nasty I could be to another person when they push the wrong buttons!!!
6. Got called "sexy" by a Korean for the first time....and it was right in front of his wife, we're friends though so it's all good.
7. Got treated to a great evening out by some friends and questioned why I'd ever want to leave the beautiful people in this country!
8. Was so relieved that we went to one of the only resturants in Korea where you don't sit on the floor cause, shortly after leaving my house, I discovered a hole in my pants!
9. Spent the whole evening joking around with Korean friends about how funny their English sounds.
10. Got asked if I was American by the waiter and I almost freaked out on him for it.

Highlights of My Day...Sunday July 17
1. Woke up feeling like I was a burn victim who just got hit by a car!
2. Took it way too easy today and stayed in bed till about 3pm cause of my sore bones.
3. Even after two showers since the mud festival, discovered more mud in my ears.
4. Craved a good back rub ALL day.....whined to fiancee about it too.
5. Got word that my fiancee is coming here to visit me again!
6. Was going to get my hair cut today at a new salon advertising some special but chickened out last minute when I checked out the girl coming out of the salon when I was walking in.....Ouch, you call that a hair cut?! Maybe they meant "interesting" or "unique" instead of "special".
7. Ignored my doorbell and phone calls all day for the simple fact that I'm still upset I didn't get to train yesterday. They all made me come home late.
8. Still on vacation from wedding planning!
9. Found myself giving typing tutoring lessons to my fiance on the webcam and telling him to practice!
10. Started the official countdown till my summer holidays....five days!!!

Highlights of My Day...Saturday July 16
1. Swam in the ocean for my first time....ended up with a sore throat from drinking too much of the ocean!
2. Got painted from head to toe in mud by co-workers.
3. Was the focus of numerous pauperizes for about 5 minutes while I mud wrestled a guy twice my height.
4. Mud wrestling was great until I realized I just exfoliated and peeled off about five layers of skin from my legs!
5. Surprised myself by walking away from a possible fight with an anorexic-looking, drunk guy who was egging me on to fight him by throwing bad punches and sand in my face.
6. What was planned as a simple picnic turned into a full fledge cook-out with a garbage bag worth of raw meat, a tent, a fire pit, and way too much food!
7. Was embarrassed by the beach infestation of all the sloppy bodies in bikinis who I was automatically associated with cause of the fact that we're foreigners.
8. Seriously considered writing a letter to whom ever makes bikinis and telling them that it should be illegal to make bikinis after a certain size!!!
9. Twenty-minutes into the 2hr drive home my mp3 batteries died. Pretended to be listening to it and somewhat sleeping so to ignore the rowdy conversations of soju-drinking co-workers.
10. Spent the evening pouting cause I got home right when the gym closed.

Highlights of My Day...Friday July 15
1. Took myself out for breakfast today....convience store cookies.
2. Finally got around to phoning my parents in Canada, only for them to mistake me for a telemarketer and hang up on me!
3. Got training advice from my dad,..."Don't train too hard, you don't want to look like a man!" Had a good laugh at this but trained hard anyways.
4. Got asked by several co-workers, "What no skirt?"
5. Became a major germaphobic for a good ten minutes when I saw my unwanted roomates (the "flirty fruit flies" and the "mighty mini moths") having a social on my nicely cleaned dishes....so I washed them again.
6. Out of pure amusement, posted a "no vacancy" sign on my apartment door....wrote it both in English and Korean. Not too sure what language my 'roomates' use.
7. Ate kimchi at school for like the 150th day in a row.....kimchi and rice, served literally with EVERY meal.
8. Had a dance-off with myself in the mirror to the whole "Britney Spears' Greatest Hits" cd that Mook made me....didn't know she had any hits that were great! Didn't know I could dance like that either...ha, ha, ha.
9. Figure I'm good competition for Ms. Spears......look out girl!

Highlights of My Day...Thursday July 14
1. Wore a skirt again to school to see how they would react this time but it only served to confused them more.
2. Realized I am no longer a kid when I found myself complaining that I'd have to eat cake and cookies as my lunch today at school.
3. Had the same kid from yesturday sneeze in my food but this time I didn't eat it....I give it to another student to eat it....ha ha ha.
4. Stood in LotteMart and realized that "AA" isn't a battery here, it's the average bra size.
5. Forgot to bring toliet paper in my purse, got stuck empty handed in a public bathroom and had to wait too long for someone to help me.
6. Got mail today from Canada. Opening it made me feel like a kid at Christmas and so without even thinking I ripped open the package only to reveal it's contents to the WHOLE teaching staff; Nike sports bra.
7. Finally, after 5 months, I got a hold of one of my close friends in Canada only to have the cell phone die.
8. Tried to have an English/Korean conversation at the gym and at the end of it the woman gave me her card and told me to call her (wink, wink)....Umm, I don't think we had the same conversation!
9. Went on a killing spree trying to get rid of my unwanted 'roomates'....."the mighty mini moths"!
10. After spending too much time dealing with the 'roomates', I noticed new roomates occupying my kitchen,...."the frisky fruit flies"!

Highlights of My Day...Wednesday July 13
1. Wore a skirt today to feel pretty, only to have people tell me I look like a girl....what does this mean?!
2. One of my students, John, conviently made a massive tissue out of my skirt and I still had 5 hours till home time.
3. In the early morning I woke to an excessively annoying street cat. I threw a battery at it only to realize later at the gym that I had just bought that and needed it.
4. Also in the early morning, woke to a bickering couple and made a big spectacle only to realize that they didn't understand one word I yelled.
5. Collected my laundry from the machine, hung it up, and then woke up to realize it's not even my clothes!
6. Went and put all the clothes back in the machine only to drop them and have to re-wash them for whoever....opps.
7. Had a candlite dinner for three...me, myself, and I....then complained about the company.
8. Had a four year old who hardly knows any English tell me I looked sexy....he didn't learn that word in my kindergarten class!
9. Was so incrediably hungry at lunch, had a five year old sneeze straight into my rice and I ate it anyways....ya, must have been really hungry!
10. Made this blog to remind myself that life is to be laughed at and not taken so seriously!
