1. Not such a "Black Monday" as it usually is with the kindergarten Glory class, but not such a productive day with my elementary Peace class. Took the WHOLE class to check and finish Friday's homework... I was not impressed.
2. Scored some homemade cookies from Louis' mom who mailed them to the school for the teachers. Thanks Mama Louis!
3. What originally was thought of as a brilliant idea (push-ups every time they say Korean) turned against me today. It turned what should have been a really productive class with my elementary Peace class into a typical military training session.
4. I think after Sally's dramatic and difficult first day in my class last week, she's officially has quit SLP. I feel really bad for the fact that she was totally thrown into my class without any warning.
5. Got the most confusing of phone messages by some guy named Robert. He said he couldn't make it out tonight and he knew my name. I'm assuming it's my brother cause my friends here don't exactly speak fluent English like that, usually their messages are in Konglish (Korean mixed with English).
6. Finished my jar of Canadian peanut butter :( The scrapped out container worked well for amusing Daewoo for a good part of the evening.
7. Found out later in the evening after a 20min conversation mainly consisting of "are you joking, is this a joke? Robbie?" that the confusing phone call was a wrong number. Holy twilight zone.... the guy calling has the same name and voice as my brother and he was calling his friend Amy. Sounds too concincidental!
8. Officially labeled myself not only the stinkiest feet in Toronto but also in Cheonan, South Korea. Realized just how smelly my sweaty post-training feet were when I gagged at the smell in the change room and realized they were my feet. Ha ha ha!
9. Kicked my own butt at training and definitely took too long to make my way home. Became a vegetable for the rest of the evening with the aid of a good funny movie.
10. Took Ryan's advice to scrub my fruit and use some kind of soap. Never remembered when he told me to rinse it good, now I've got a tummy ache.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
How come the older we get, the more difficult life's questions get and the more confusing life gets?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
I never think of the future - it comes soon enough.
-- Albert Einstein (thanks Pete for the great quote)
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
