1. After hanging up like a year's supply of freshly washed laundry, the clothesline decides to snap and Daewoo does a "grab and run", dragging some clean clothes across the somewhat messy floor.
2. Had the whole gym to myself today and apparently was the only die-hard that ventured out to train all day.
3. Thought I was being totally checked out by the gym's manager but turns out he was just checking out my weights. He's always so curious as to what weights I'm pushing.
4. Countdown is on till Young Un and Woo start working at Daewon Cantival (my gym). Good stuff!
5. Always amazed at the silly things Daewoo does. Today's list of silly things included running into a car and an old woman as he turned around to look at me.
6. Ventured downtown for a movie and supper with Ryan. We had Korean chicken soup and although I had wished it had noodles, I have to say that Korean chicken soup kicks Canadian soup's butt!
7. Ryan's language lesson for today was learning the phrase "lazy bum". Had a good laugh when he took the phrase literally and tried to check out his butt.
8. Checked out a Korean movie with Ryan. It was a comedy about a gangster movie but I'm not too sure which was more funny, the movie or Ryan's constant giggling.
9. Wasn't aware that my look confused the local Koreans until Ryan translating the comments of the staring girls and passer-byers.
10. Ran into a Korean taxi driver who either a. knew less Korean than me or b. thought it funny to act dumb. I jumped in his cab, gave him instructions where to drive and even explained where its' around.... no luck. Had to call Ryan to talk to him and even then their discussion lasted too long.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
What surprises you the most about yourself?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
The moment when you first wake up in the morning is the most wonderful of the twenty-four hours. No matter how weary or dreary you may feel, you possess the certainty that, during the day that lies before you, absolutely anything may happen. And the fact that it practically always doesn't, matters not a jot. The possibility is always there.
-- Monica Baldwin
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
