1. Woke up to some girl screaming. I freaked out and was so scared cause I didn't know what was going on. I was in a room filled with people wearing the same clothing and no one was reacting to this girl screaming. Little did I know I was sleeping in the movie theater part of the spa!
2. Lounged around at the spa without my lenses on and boy was that weird. I was so nervous about venturing away from my friends cause it'd be impossible to find them.... we're all wearing the same clothes with the exception that they guys are in blue and us girls are in pink.
3. Always thrown off guard when people are able to make me blush. Usually I'm able to play it cool but today I totally blushed... I can't even remember why either.
4. Ventured over to the Beverly Hills of Korea where the shops sell nothing less than the latest of bling-bling and the streets are lined with porches and BMWs. They've got nothing on Ryan's "convertible" though!
5. Checked out the movie "The Merchant on Venice" with Ryan, Kwang Chul, and Hyo Hoon. Thought it sweet that they chose an English movie but I don't think they're really familiar with the Old English used in Shakespeare's time.
6. Only in Korea do you sit in a movie theater and eat popcorn and dried squid!
7. It was brought to my attention courtesy of Ryan that when I walk arm-in-arm with him that we're stared at. It's common to see a white guy with a Korean girl but very rare to see a white girl with a Korean. I'll be honest, I hang out with Ryan cause of his "convertible" and bling-bling.... just joking!!!
8. After totally neglecting Daewoo for the past two days (only cause I didn't realize I'd be staying in Seoul) I spoiled him with treats and a midnight run. Mind you, I kind of killed it when I bathed him after.... he hates baths lately!
9. Got one of the nicest of phone texts from Kwan Chul who wanted to say it was nice meeting me and that he hopes we see each other soon. Mind ya, I had a heck of a time relaying the Korean text to Ryan's cell so that he could translate it.
10. It's 3am and I'm still up.... would have gone to bed earlier but got an email from an old flame. Always curious as to how people don't realize what they've got till it's gone. Always am intrigued who comes out of the woodwork when situations change. No thanks boys, I've got my eyes on something else.... me!
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
How comfortable are you with yourself?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Knowing is half the battle.
-- G.I. Joe
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
