As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of My Day...Thursday October 27

1. Showed my true tough Canadian blood by dressing in summer clothes and cruising into school. Jules was covered from head to toe and there I was in sandals and short pants.
2. Finally am being productive with my attempt to quit coffee. It was hard though cause to the right of my desk was a new stash of coffee staring at me but I made it. One day down, many more to go! Figure I won't totally cut myself off but instead will treat myself once and awhile.
3. Halloween celebrations started at school for various classes and although it was disappointing how few students dressed up, I have to love Louis' costume.... or should I say Louisa!!! Tasha and Dave were sporting some scary vampire looks and Patty was a mad scientist with what looked like my usual morning bedhead!
4. Totally disgusted with Louis as an incredibly ugly woman but couldn't take my eyes off him. It was disturbing but yet so fascinating. Ha ha ha.
5. Got to love it.... the Chicken man at the restaurant next to my apartment can't sing to save his life but yet is so proud to belt out any love song he knows.
6. Well I did... announced to Paulo my decision to break off my engagement.
7. I guess this means that we are disqualified from my poll for "Most Dynamic Duo". Rockie and Bullwinkle deserve the title anyways. Bad time to be sarcastic, I know.
8. Feeling kind of like a cold-hearted punk after my talk with Paulo and so I thought it appropriate to include the following email my friend Heather sent me...

  • Every night, someone thinks about you before they go to sleep.
At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.
The only reason someone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.
There are at least 2 people in this world that would die for you.
You mean the world to someone.
Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.
When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.
When you think the world has turned its back on you, take a look again. Someone's always in your corner.
Always remember the compliments you received.
    Forget the rude remarks.

9. Ran into Jin Suk at the gym and before I knew it, I got the impression that I've agreed to go on some weekend get-away with her. The more and more I talk to her the less and less English she uses. The only English she now uses is my name.
10. Downtown late night ice cream and good times with Cheonan's funniest Korean, Ryan.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Have you ever stopped to count how many lives you've impacted today?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Yesterday was the past, tomorrow is the future and today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.
