1. Wasn't aware that it was Joel's birthday today and so, being so unprepared, Wisdom class and I made a birthday cake out of wooden blocks and had him blow out pretend candles. We even gave presents (wooden blocks) and ate pizza (more wooden blocks).
2. Argued with Wisdom Jinny over intentional hitting and accident. Just to prove my point, I told her to stand still so that I could hit her and then I was going to say sorry. She thought I was joking until I raised my hand and then she freaked. She may be only 5 but she's conniving and very tricky.
3. After 9 months of doing pretty much the same routine, I'm still not use to the schedule flips. Excused my elementary Peace class 40 mins early thinking that it was their last period at SLP. Totally confused them but thankfully they didn't leave.
4. A bit confused, how come I live in a country literally obsessed with rice and yet they've got no rice crispy squares?! Jinny teacher (Korean) told me they mix honey and rice but have never thought of marshmallows. What's up with that?!
5. Got some lovin' from my mom back in Canada....thanks for the package! I especially am grateful for the macaroni and cheese. I'll definitely stash that away for a rainy day!
6. Introduced Jinny and Jules to what all Canadians know as cider.... apple cider. Here in Korea cider is cold; it's similar to Z-Up. My mom had sent it in the mail and so I gave away the packages. "Add hot water...why hot?" was Jinny's confused response.
7. Got into a brief chat with a Korean man in the elevator who recognized me from my old gym. I was kind of embarrassed cause I didn't recognize him nor ever noticed his good looks. Had a good laugh though when we realized we had been in the elevator for over 5 mins and had has past our floors numerous times.
8. Had a brutal training session at the gym. Only did cardio but struggled with it.
9. Came home and started to make some Korean noodles (precooked) and then realized that I still have no hydro. Ended up eating the raw noodles and cold sauce though because I was so hungry. It was nasty. Even Daewoo rejected the noodles and he eats everything!
10. Retreated to Ryan's house to escape my ice box of a home. Left Daewoo in the cold and didn't feel bad about it at all. He's got a massive fur coat and some fat on him to keep himself warm.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
What's your niche in life?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
We live by faith not by sight.
-- 1 Corinthians 5:7
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
