1. Found out that yesterday Ryan told his mother that I’m white. I’m white?!
2. While on our way to catch the train, Ryan hands me his cell and tells me to say hi. I said hi in Korean but that was the extent of the conversation because I couldn’t understand her. Turns out I was talking to his mother!
3. Learned the Korean alphabet song (well for the constanents that is)
4. Went to Space with Ryan…. Space being the HUGE techno mart in Yongan.
5. Bought a Compaq Presario labtop; I’m lovin’ it!!!
6. Still am the only white girl I’ve seen who’s boyfriend is a Korean.
7. First snowfall this year for Korea!
8. Once again, Ryan and I find ourselves sweating over a plate of BBQ spicy chicken. This chicken is definitely hardcore. This is like some form of Korean torture, I’m convinced of it.
9. One minute we’re on the train staring at each other, the next minute we’re all friends and joking around. Poor dude got on the train and caused a commution with his train directions. Turns out he was the one on the wrong train. Had a good laugh at how people’s attitudes so suddenly change. It was nice.
10. Getting a taxi home at Yawoori was like getting a Toronto cab on New Year’s Eve…next to impossible. Ryan and I stood in the massive line for about 50mins at the taxi stand that’s usually swormed by cabs like a fat kid on a smarty.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
What's wrong with my blog, I can't seem to download pictures?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Nobody puts baby in the corner.
-- Johnny Castle from "Dirty Dancing"
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
