As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Tuesday, December 6

1. Today's recipe for disaster included a big dose of stubbornness, inappropriate name calling, a dash of Korean slang, a few cups of ballistic attitude and one foreign girl (me) standing there totally shocked and full of flowing tears.
2. Always amazed at how lucky some people always seem to be.... it was Spazzy-K's lucky day today.... not only did this person walk away with more gained disrespect than anyone else but they also, some how, got to walk away with their teeth in their mouth as oppose to their pocket.
3. Spent the rest of the day dazed and confused over the morning drama episode in the staff room.
4. Korean fighting advice... it's not how hard you hit, it's where you hit. If the bruise goes away within three weeks, no problem. But, big problem if the bruise lasts for more than three weeks.... than it could be brought to the police.
5. Am convinced that lots happened during my classes but I'm too distracted to remember them.
6. Got introduced to Kazaa (a free site for downloading music) by Shannon and started my addiction with a good dose of two hours of downloading music. Oh no.....I feel another itch!
7. And the nominations are in...

  • For most philosophical advice.... Karma baby, she's got it coming to her.... again, again, and again!
For most realistically-speaking advice.... People always deserve what comes their way and in this case, that just might be your fist!
For most aggressive advice... Forget the 3 week rule, next time just hit them.
For most likely to not be effective advice... Just ignore it; forget about it all.
For most unlikely to happen advice... Let's talk this over so you two can be friends again.

8. And the winner for best advice... Some people just love drama. If it weren't there then they'd create it. If it weren't with you then it'd be with someone else. So sit back and watch the show.
9. Ventured over to my homegirl Jenn's place for a relaxing night of "girl talk" and a movie. Watched "Elf". Nice pad Jenn!
10. Jenn freaked me out with her talking of the past Cheonan murderer who use to feed on teenager girls. Had to phone Ryan and have him "escort" me home.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Do you ever sit back and think, this is not normal?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
If you see gum on the street, leave it. It's not free candy.
-- from the movie "Elf"
