1. Finally took a motorcycle taxi and joined the band of bikers on the streets of Thai. It was a lot of fun but the fact that I seriously question if my driver had all his adult teeth yet, made me a bit nervous.
2. Opted out for more shopping and instead ventured to the hotel pool to pick up my share of sun. Picked up too much sun and now am sporting a bit of a burn.
3. Found out that even the men have a price... ya, that was ackward. I had no idea what he was talking about. I thought he worked for the hotel but it turned out he was "working" the hotel. NO THANKS DUDE!!!
4. After last night's cultural shock, I decided that I rather be home. Tried hard to change my plane ticket but had no luck. Looks like I'm stuck here till Sunday.
5. Stupid move... showed up with 5mins to spare till visa application interview hour ends at the Korean Embassey. God must love me because I got it... luck has nothing to do with it! Thanks big guy!
6. Ate pineapple for EVERY meal today and even for snack. Nothing beats freshly picked and cut pineapple. It's nature's candy.
7. It's official.... I'm buddies with some of the locals who drive the various taxis. Today one of my buddies bought me pineapple. I had had too much pineapple today but took him up on the offer.
8. Got into an arguement with a local shoe-repair man who decided after the work was done that he'd change his price and try to cheat me. For his work, he tried to charge me almost the same price of the shoes when I first bought them. Jokes on him, I've got more money than he'll ever see and I am no body's fool.... so I slapped him, broke the shoe and then walked away. Better luck next time guy with picking a better fool. Told one of my taxi friends about the Mr. Fool (shoe repair man) and definitely wasn't expecting him to go there and rat the guy out. Thanks but I highly doubt his offer to fix my next pair of shoes for free interest me. ch
9. Went in search of another disco tech but had no luck. Found yet another tourist trap market.
10. I have to get this out of my system... Wonder Woman, if you talk about "it" one more time I swear I'm going to go crazy and slap "it" right off you!!! Talking never got me thin, I bust my butt to stay in shape.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
How does talking about it change it?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.
-- Colin Powell
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
