As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Tuesday, March 7

1. While trying to unhook my computer today before school, I scrapped off like 20 layers of skin from my head… ah, that felt b-e-a-u-t-I-f-u-l!
2. Met the rest of my classes at Eumbong Middle School. Totally stoked about this year of teaching cause of the high energy and amazing personalities these kids have.
3. Started a new email account and so as a part of my students’ homework they have to email me occasional diary/emails.
4. Volunteered to start a new after school club called “Epals”. Registered online and am in the process of finding email friends overseas for my club members here. It’s still in the process but so far too many of my students want to join my club and so it’s going to be hard to limit it so that I’m working intensely with these students.
5. Looks like Tony isn’t the only one student that proclaims his “love” for me…. met Ryan today. He’s a second grade middle school student who almost got into a fist fight over the name Ryan. I convinced his classmate to use the name because I like that name, it’s my boyfriend’s English name. Well… then it started!
6. Had problems with Jimmy again in my 2-1 class and as a result I invented a new classroom policy. If I tell you two times to stop being so distractive there will be no third time because the third time I will give you two options: walk out of the classroom or be carried out. Apparently Jimmy thought I was joking and so I took my shoes off and picked the sqwormy little 14 year old boy. I never kicked him out of the class but that was enough to keep him quiet for the rest of the class.
7. Told my co-teacher about Jimmy and she flat out told me next time to hit him. I had already told the class I refuse to hit them and do stand by that statement. Plus, picking them up is much more effective and doesn’t leave bruises… just bruised egos and that’s good enough for me!
8. Heard probably the saddest thing I’ve heard in such a long time… nothings worse than a beautiful woman who’s been married for 10 years and who still has never heard the father of her child tell her he loves her…. meet my co-teacher Mrs. J. And she’s okay with it and I think that’s awful.
9. Turned my apartment into a mini gym and almost punched a hole in the wall as I practiced my boxing. Oops, close call.
10. Thought I’d definitely win the award for sweetest girlfriend by having a cooked dinner all ready for when Ryan came…. he hated it! My pasta dish was to him what Sunday’s boiled pork was to me.

QUESTION OF THE DAY…
How can you love someone and not be so happy and proud to tell them those 3 words… I love you?

QUOTE OF THE DAY…
"yes, beautiful teacher bye."

-- cell phone text message from one of my students, Stella
