As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Wednesday, March 1

1. Today I had no school because it is a holiday here in Korea. Today we celebrate Korea’s independence. Here’s a bit of Korean history for you.

    • March 1, 1919, marked the beginning of the Korean Independence Movement On this day, independence fighters announced Korea's declaration of independence from Japanese colonialism. In response, Japanese police and military forces killed and injured thousands of unarmed protestors. The official Japanese count of casualties include 553 killed, 1,409 injured, and 12,522 arrested, but the Korean estimates are much higher, over 7,500 killed, about 15,000 injured, and 45,000 arrested.
2. Am particularly proud to be in Korea today and really proud that my boyfriend is Korean. His country and his people are so underestimated and I don’t understand why they want to become westernized. Stay true to yourself.
3. Got accused for taking too long to get ready… so you’re accusing me of being a girl? Hmmm, interesting. I’m a chic, and it’s in my sex’s rights to be allowed to take longer.
4. Headed out to Seoul for the day and stocked up at Costcos on all those western foods, like 4 pounds of cheese and granola!
5. Finally met the famous Wonder Woman. Ryan and I headed out to Seoul and had lunch with her. She’s so sweet.
6. Received loads of compliments from Wonder Woman about my boyfriend, Banana Man… aka the Korean MacGyver.
7. It’s official… I’ll be leaving on March 8th and then coming back March 12th. Thailand here I come!
8. I can’t stand freshly dried jeans. Spent all day working them in and when I finally get home, then they’re comfortable.
9. Always curious as to what surprise Ryan will reveal. Tonight’s revealing was “Doctor Ryan”. Thank goodness you’re my boyfriend!
10. Winchester United kicked butt at their soccer game tonight! Good job boys… way to make Korea proud!

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Why do you want to be like them?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
I'm not beautiful like you, I'm beautiful like me.
