As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Saturday, May 20

1. Hanging out in Seoul all night is definitely a marathon. I knew leaving my house on Friday that going to Seoul was going to be lots of fun but very draining.
2. Early, early morning calls from Kim Sang Woo who works in Seoul. I told him I was a the subway station but didn’t know he’d skip out on work to try to catch me…. so cute but no such luck.
3. Stayed up till the wee hours of Saturday morning and then me, Trin and Darnell made our way back via the subway.
4. After such a long night, I really wasn’t in the mood to deal with Mr. Rude taxi driver. It was obvious he thought I was a Russian doing the “walk of shame”. I let it roll until he VERY curiously asked me if this way my home. I knew what he was hinting at and so I said, “No, this is my customer’s home. I am going to work”. I think we were equally disgusted in each other.
5. Crashed and then woke up at 6pm only to fall asleep again and the wake up at 11pm.
6. Late, late night supper at Kimbob Nada with Ryan. Well, it was soup and rice so you can hardly call it a meal. Give me some meat!!!
7. Still feeling the whole Thursday incident on my shoulders, so to speak.
8. Just when you think you’ve hit a rough point something changes things… those two dudes walking down the street TOTALLY changed my night. As Ryan and I passed them, they booth eyed us and then one said “I envy him”. Ryan translated it for me and so I felt awesome. I really needed to hear that!
9. Shocked a group of western on-lookers and got major double…. triple looks as Ryan and I passed them holding hands. Still am confused as to why some people are so surprised a western woman could love a Korean man.
10. Stayed up super late and went to bed super hungry… see I told you that soup just wouldn’t cut it. I need a meal for champions! Ha, ha, ha.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Do you want to take our picture (it lasts longer)?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
You can't change people, you can only change yourself.
-- Ryan... a lesson I still haven't learned.
