As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Sunday, May 21

1. Woke up at 6am to those loud political candidates and their trucks outside my apartment. Finally fell asleep again and then woke up and had a meal for champions… granola, milk, orange juice and buttermilk pancakes!
2. Today was definitely a day of changes!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3. Realized today how much I have let Thursday’s incident get to me when after getting ready I then refused to leave the house.
4. Melt down today on the home front and so I’ll admit it, today I really DON’T like Korea. Been thinking too much about Thursday’s incident and it really escaladed today with me wanting to go home. I think today was the first time I ever really referred to Canada as home.
5. Really got thinking today about what I’ve learnt lately about Koreans. What I learnt is that being an educated, independent and strong, but foreign women, means you’ll be disrespected. no matter what. There’s always going to be ignorant Koreans who obviously are so stupid as to repeatedly label all us foreign women as Russian. I got news for you… most Russians have brown hair and even if I was Russian, at least I’m doing something with my life as oppose to getting drunk every night of the week of cheap alcohol! I buy milk that’s more expensive than your alcohol.
6. Venting to Ryan turned into a pep talk from him. Okay… I’m still on Korea’s side but for now I’ll step down as Korea’s number one fan. I’ve always been pro-Korean but lately I’ve been really bombarded with the whole “Russian” label when all I’ve done since I got here is try to blend in… dyed my hair, eat the food, listen to Korean music, learned some of the language and even learned how to read it.
7. Consider myself extremely lucky for Ryan… he’s a beautiful Korean who’s so different. He definitely keeps me grounded.
8. After agreeing to “change my mind” about eating fish eggs, Ryan then tells me that he ate them all. Well,… that was pointless!
9. Tried to “change my mind” and watch a horror film with Ryan. Tonight’s
featured film was “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”. Ya, I lasted about 30 minutes before I started getting sqwormy.
10. Had a hard time falling asleep cause I couldn’t get those chainsaw noises out of my head.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Who died and made you king?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.
