As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Sunday, June 25

1. Woke up and then Darnell and I ate lunch together at Subway. I think we amused ourselves too much with sitting there in the window people watching.
2. Cruised around Songtan for a bit with Darnell. It’s fun venturing around Korea but there’s no place like home. Jumped on the subway and hurried back to Cheonan.
3. Entertained my fellow Koreans with pretending to not know English when three American soldiers started bothering me on the subway.
4. Seems like no matter how frustrated I get with Ryan, I can never stay mad at him. He picked me up at the subway station. I tried to act all mad but then I cracked a smile when he looked up at me. Saucy boy!
5. I can always tell when Ryan thinks he’s done wrong. He either buys me ice cream or banana milk, or cleans the house. Turns out he cleaned my whole house. He did everything…. vacuumed up the gang of mosquitoes on the ceiling, laundry, dishes, dusting, vacuuming,… he even attacked the couch so he could wash the cover!
6. Went out for “military soup” with Ryan. He tells me that back in the war days, the American soldiers use to through out so much food and so the poor Koreans use to go through their trash, collect the food, and then cook this soup. It definitely was a mix of every thing but it tasted really good!
7. How ironic. Today I bought two movies in Songtan for $5 each and when I started to play one, the first thing that popped up on the screen was an ad for prirated movies. Oh… I’m so rebellious, ha, ha, ha.
8. Had a field day on this massive watermelon and then spent the rest of the evening running back and forth to the bathroom… ha, ha, ha. I’m not joking.
9. Stalker Boy continues to send me “crying pictures”… he’s killing my phone bill too, I’m sure of it!
10. Movie night was a no-go when five minutes into the movie Ryan fell asleep on the floor.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Did you just look at my bum?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute.

My husband loves that 부대찌개 you ate. I make it here once in awhile but not too often since the combination of Spam, hot dogs, and ramen can't be particularly good for the heart! :-P
