As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Wednesday, August 23

1. Ahhhh… it was an early morning, army-style wake-up. Woke up with 10 minutes to get up, get ready, and get out. Strolled into work desperate for coffee and they still haven’t fixed this machine!
2. Today I was SUPPOSE to go teach at Wollang but the principle didn’t come to pick me up. Turns out my English classes for the day have been canceled cause of an assembly.
3. Turns out the assembly was for Wollang’s principle. He’s retiring!!! Oh no… that’s two awesome principle’s I’m losing!
4. Word has it Eumbong’s principle isn’t retiring, instead, he’s been promoted to supervisor for the Asan Education Board… could he be replacing the “much-loved” Supervisor Lee?!
5. No sooner had I arrived to school than they were sending me home. Due to my canceled elementary classes, my vice principle saw no need to make me stick around till finish time. Finish time today for me was at 10am… sweet!
6. Went home and crashed for the rest of the afternoon.
7. Woke up and ventured over to my old neighborhood… Ssangyong-Dong where I was greeted by my friend Mr. Alpha Store Man and the kimboop lady. Both were so surprised to see me because they thought I had gone back to Canada.
8. In an effort to practice my Korean and show Mr. Alpha Store Man how I’ve improved, I ended up putting my foot in my mouth. He stumped me with the question, “Why did you leave the hagwan?” I ended up confusing my words and calling my old director a “smelly pervert”. It humored us both but I felt kind of foolish after. Better get back to studying!!!
9. Discovered raspberry milk!

10. Sensory overload at the English bookstore today… I am becoming my mother!!! Well, at least developing her love for books. My particular favorite books mind you are philisophical texts, ESL books (for teaching) and Korean language books.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
How come no one is signing my guestbook?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
The worth of a book is to be measured by what you can carry away from it.
