As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Friday, September 15

1. With way too much prep time in the afternoon, I tried hard to humor myself and pass the time away. So, I put my nose in my books and studied Korean. Ended up trying to count how many Korean words/phrases I could recall. Got up to over 200 and then lost interest.
2. Find it rather ironic that I’m asking for relationship advice from two guys who butcherized my heart in the past.
3. Thanks to Sean for the “virtual hug”…ha, ha, ha. If you only knew what you were to me in highschool. Boy have times really changed things.
4. Nothing beats getting a hair cut while getting a free Korean language lesson, being fed Jeju Island oranges (oh, so yummy), listening to some good Korean tunes and having some cute guy make you tea in the background… all for 8,000W (= $8). I always fear getting my hair cut but tonight it was awesome. Thanks to my hair dresser’s cute neighbor for “conviently” dropping by to give me a Jeju orange and to make me tea. He doesn’t speak a word of English, he giggles at my Korean and always seems to show up.
5. Turns out tomorrow’s original plans to go to Ryan’s brother’s wedding are a big flop and so I won’t even begin to express my disappointment. I don’t even know where to begin and so, instead, I dedicate this song to you Ryan.... "Walk Away", by Christina Aguleira.

6. Whoever said shopping doesn’t solve problems obviously never stepped into “Valley Girl”! Decided to bump myself out of this gloomy mood and what better way than getting all dolled up, strutting downtown to splurge on some shopping and then treating myself to ice cream. That’s exactly what I did and you know what, it worked like a charm.
7. Who ever said distracting yourself from the real problem doesn’t solve things obviously have never met my awesome buddy, Byung Hyuk. Tonight we had the big bowling rematch. Loser was to pay for the game. Byung Hyuk brought a friend, Kim Tae, who supposedly sucked at bowling… supposedly. He creamed us!!!
8. I can’t believe I lost to a guy… a guy who claims he doesn’t even know how to bowl!!! He beat me by ONE POINT… we won’t mention how bad I beat Byung Hyuk though. Ha, ha, ha. For a loser though, he’s really good about it. Ha, ha, ha.
9. I treated the boys out to a good meal downtown where we chatted it up, humored each other with our Konglish, and shared a lot of laughs. This is happiness.
10. Came home and jumped on msn where I spent some time talking to my mom and then my good friend Errol. Errol and I met in Korea but now he’s back in Canada. Everyone needs an "Errol"... you're awesome!
