As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Monday, September 4

1. Today we had a pop song contest with the level 3 middle school students. It was so funny to see the boys try their best to impress the girls. I voted Kevin for biggest heart-throb…ha, ha, ha.
2. Once again Marios proved to be quiet the brave guy and, despite his great lack of English skills, he and Cole (another lower end English student) got up and braved the crowd together. They sang acopello and it was really good! They sang more English than I’ve heard come out of their mouth since the start of the year!!!
3. Turns out I was wrong about the girl who got eye surgery. It wasn’t the girl I had originally thought. Instead, it was this other girl who is quite a “relaxed” student. No offence but, if she really wanted to change her looks so desperately maybe she should try with a small diet… or a comb. Cutting up your beautiful eyes was not the answer… they were actually her strongest feature, go figure!
4. A friend of mine (foreigner) came from out of town to visit me and I was greatly amused when he handed his cell over to the taxi driver so that I could talk to the driver. I was the translator!!! Ha, ha, ha… it was pretty cool actually. Definitely a first.
5. Spent most of the evening listening to my friend’s relationship advice and defending mine… not so cool. His heart is good but I can’t help but think of what his real intentions are. It was fun though that he came to my neck of the woods for once, it gave him a chance to see how REAL Korea lives as oppose to those in Songtan (little America)
6. Hey Tasha… do you remember that guy from Mbar with the dreads?! I ran into him tonight and he’s still just as cute.... he still has the dreads too! I like his funky style. He was greatly amused by my Korean and tried eagerly to get me to go with him… go where, I’m not sure, but it was super amusing.
7. Realized just how much my opinion of foreigners has changed when I found myself shying away from being seen at Mbar. I’m sorry but some people are just so predictable and these dudes tonight were definitely not an exception.
8. I just LOVE IT how people point the finger at me and yet to notice three fingers pointing back at them… hint, hint. This message is for a couple of people in specific. Some people simply have more poop coming out their mouth than their butt… sorry to be so graphic but enough is enough.
9. Strolled over to my gym to show my visitor my gym and introduce him to my good friend Byung Hyuk (River). It was quite amusing to see the look on Byung Hyuk’s face as I walked in wearing regular clothes as oppose to my usual army hat and sweats. I think this was the first time Byung Hyuk has ever seen my feminine side.
10. Turns out Byung Hyuk was impressed by this feminine side of me and so I spent the rest of the evening responding to his multiple text messages…ha, ha, ha.
