As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Sunday, February 1

1. Oh my gosh... and here I thought it was just me who was ridiculously overly sarcastic. Today Q said the strangest thing and I almost peed myself in the street laughing so hard!!!
"I think that guy going to meet girlfriend's parents first time. Yes... yes... he brings gift. He must need gift. His face so fugly!"
Great, so my boyfriend's grammar isn't improving but he's definitely picking up on English slang. The other day I heard him try to use "eh" at the end of his sentence... hahaha.

2. Q's new Konglish word for the day: "dong scratches"... dong means poo... and no, don't ask... hahaha.

3. My mom's fascination with books was definitely passed down in the gene pool because I find myself constantly drawn to Kyobo Books. Today Q and I headed over "just to look" but ended up spending way too much cash on books.

4. Decided one way to keep my interest in learning the Korean language fresh and strong was to pick up an extra book for my Korean studies. No sooner had I figured out which book I wanted but then Q and I ran into one of his coworkers. There I stood, flipping through the pages of a Korean text suitable for an age 6 Korean child while wearing a stupid giddy grin on my face... nice. Rather embarrassing actually, considering the childish pictures and large print.

5. Spent a good chunk of the afternoon slouched on the couch studying.

6. Q's pretty much have become desensitized by my random outbursts of in-house dancing but today I definitely caught his attention when I accidentally grazed the counter with my side and got a rice cake smeared with peanut butter stuck on my butt... hahaha!!!

7. Buff Boy the Original is rumoured to have landed back in Korea today but I heard nothing from him today.

8. Q decided to take it upon himself to not only go grocery shopping by himself but to also cook up quite the feast for us tonight... very, very sweet indeed!

9. In addition to spending a good chunk of my afternoon studying, I also spent a chunk of my evening studying too. Read the first story in my new book. It was about a preschooler who always has to rely on his mom to wake him up and so his classmates call him the "late captain"... not really age appropriate for me but I could relate with the kid. I'm not a big fan of mornings either unless they involve a gorgeous man serving me coffee or my mom cooking up a storm in the kitchen... neither of which have happened in quite a long time :(

10. Got Q to record himself reading the story and so I'm hoping to have it memorized by Tuesday.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
What did you learn today?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.

I wish I was as dedicated as you were with learning the language. You think you can zap me some of your brain power?
