As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Saturday, February 7

1. Woke up to the Cheonan Trump calling me. He wants me to come by his office next Tuesday morning. OK, so next Tuesday it is... I'm going to ask him to throw me some "love" for my upcoming game, aka pay for my game uniform. Junior Mint wants to go all out with my game uniform, insisting that not only do I get new boxing trunks but also get one of those fancy cape-like jackets. Estimated cost, $500. Pocket change for the Trump.

2. No sooner did I get off the phone with the Cheonan Trump but then my doorbell started to ring. I stopped dead in my tracks. I wasn't expecting any kind of delivery and so I switched on the monitor for my door camera to see who it was; it was Jae Min. He was alone. Jae Min has never shown up so unexpectedly to my house. I've known him for four years now and he's never even been to my house. And in the three years that I've been living in my downtown pad no one has ever come unexpectedly to visit me... no one. So there I stood, in my housecoat, starring at Jae Min in the camera monitor while Mi Nam barked his head off. I didn't answer the door. I don't do unexpected visitors, especially when I'm oh natural and half naked.

3. Pretending I'm not home and switching my phone on vibe isn't so cool of me to do, I know, but this isn't Canada and I am not my old self here. Male friends showing up at a girl's house is kind of socially frowned upon unless she's the girlfriend of the guy, in which I am definitely not. Moreover, I really don't like people coming to my house. It's the only place in Korea I feel utterly and completely myself.... safe and comfortable. My boxing gym is a definite close second but it's still not number one.

4. Met up with Tang at boxing today. Back when I got my huge box from Adidas in France, I had promised him a pair of mini boxing gloves, like the ones I have hanging off my gym bag. I keep on forgetting but today I brought them and a pair of new Adidas hand wraps for him. "I'll give you a gift next time..." he noted "... maybe some hair shampoo" he added. Nice, real nice. I knew I'd be seeing him today at boxing and so I purposely showed up with mad bed-head... hahaha.

5. After training, I ripped off my extra layers and give a hilariously loud grunt and flex in front of Tang. "Oh my gosh... you're like a guy with breasts!" he yelled out... lol!!!

6. Finished the "Undomestic Goddess" that I started yesterday. 400 pages in two sittings, nice.

7. No sooner had I got ready to take Mi Nam out for his evening walk but my doorbell rang yet again. It was Jae Min, again. And like earlier on today when he initially pulled this stunt, I froze again in my tracks and acted like I wasn't home.

8. Note to whomever: I don't answer my door for unexpected guests!

9. His two unexpected drop-byes were followed by numerous text messages.

Him: You have to meet me tonight, it's my birthday.
Me: No, it's not. Your birthday is February 16th.
Him: My girlfriend really wants to see you and Mi Nam.
Me: You change girlfriends every week so there's no way she knows me.
Him: What are you doing?
Me: Watching a movie.
Him: When does it finish?
Me: Well, it's 12:30am and so it will finish around 2am.
Him: What are you doing after the movie?
Me: Joining the circus... Look, I'm not meeting you tonight.
10. I know I'm a huge anti-social for the past couple of months or whatnot but that's my own personal choice. I like Jae Min, I really do. I like him cause he's not one of these "cookie-cut-out" people; he's a bit of a nut and a little crazy, but in a good way. But whenever I meet him it's always super late and it usually involves me meeting one of his many girlfriends at some smoky bar where they insist I join them in drinking or eating bar food, which you know is never healthy. I use to play it safe and eat just the peanuts but then I read somewhere about how only 2 in every 10 people wash their hands after using a public bathroom. I hate public bathrooms as it is, so there's no way I want to eat from a bowl where people's "pee-hands" have been. Nasty.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Do you eat the peanuts?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.

-What would your cape say? Anything special? Like "Amy, the Biggest Sister of Them All" haha
-It did seem a bit harsh at first, but I understand that feeling of home. I don't have it. I don't even have my own room. It's really just a big closet.
-400pages? Good God! I can even read 100 of my required book The Grapes of Wrath. Jealousss >=0
-At first I thought maybe he had something important to say, but now it looks pretty random with those texts.
-You are so NOT anti-social. IM anti-social, youre just making a decision not to give in when most would. That's different.
And yes, its me Bman =D

Hey Bman,
My cape, it's probably just read my name, my Korean name, and the name of my boxing club. My coach keeps on calling me a camelian (spelling?!) lately and so I might even through that on, not too sure though.
400 pages isn't so bad when it's a good book. I only read half of that "Running with Scissors" book but was dragging myself through it.
Thanks but I think I am still very anti-social and am more anti-social than you. The only people I really talk to are those at my boxing club and well, it's kind of impossible to not talk to my coach and teammates considering we train together.
