1. Despite it being Sunday, "the day of rest", I journeyed off to the boxing club for more training. It was my last day of training before my fight, or so I thought, and it'd be a light day of training, or so I also thought.
2. An hour later, after I had already pushed myself and had worked up quite the sweat, in came Junior Mint. And he got right down to pushing me some more and exhausting me on pad work.
3. Today was the first day in a very long time that I ever admitted that I was tired. I've pushed my body into top condition but my mind and heart, well, they were definitely lagging behind today. It's been a rough couple of days and whether it's people stressing me about my fight, teammates drilling me about Q, or Q constantly trying to call me, it'd been a little too much for me to handle lately. I just wanted to focus on my game.
4. Junior Mint and I have an awesome relationship. We've shed our outer defensive skin and constanty bare our true self to each other. I think it's amazing how open and honest we are but today me being open and honest with him spun him into a very ticked off stage. I told him about Q. He looked furious. Thankfully for Q, he wasn't any where near Junior Mint today cause had he been, well, I'm sure he'd be sporting some major bruises right now.
5. Later in the evening I headed over to Park Jun, a very trendy and posh hair shop where they shower you with attention and everything is overpriced. It is the Prada of hair shops... and it didn't cost me a cent!!! The Cheonan Trump insisted that I get the best of the best to do my game hair and so he set up an appointment for me with them.
6. So off I raced to Park Jun where for the next two hours I was catered to by four of Park Jun's ladies. The main lady, who braided my hair, was a stylist but she kept three other assistant girls busy attending me by having them give me hand massages, face massages, and other things like running to get me green tea and whatnot.
7. While I was at Park Jun, Q texted me. He wanted to meet up and talk. At first I thought it was a bad idea but I figured hey, he did give me over a year of his life and yes, this is still someone I care deeply about, so I agreed to see him.
8. There's something about Q, am not too sure on what it is though. Regardless of how mad I may be at him or whatever I may be thinking, he has this certain persona about him that makes it so hard for me to stay straight-faced with him when we meet in person. I guess that's why he always insists on meeting face-to-face whenever we are in a disagreement.
9. Nothing was really solved by us meeting up but I did joke and end our conversation by blurting out, "... and once I receive your application, the boyfriend application that is, I'll be happy to review it and get back to you", where upon he responded with "I have to fill out an application?!" "Yes" I said, "there's others waiting in line and so now you have to take a number"... hahaha. It of course was a joke. There's no application but it got me thinking, wouldn't life be all that more easier if there were such a thing as a required boyfriend application?!... hahaha. It'd definitely be interesting to note the references from past girlfriends.
10. With tomorrow being my official weigh-in day, I was happy to note that today was officially the last day of my game diet... sweet!
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Is she just as stressed out about this game as I am?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
The first and greatest victory is to conquer yourself; to be conquered by yourself is of all things most shameful and vile.
-- Plato
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
