As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Amy... I think there may be some confusion.

According to the KBC website, you and she fought to a draw.

The scores were:
38-38, 38-38, 39-37 = 무승부

Since two judges saw it as a draw, it's called a majority draw.

Maybe you were confused because one of the judges scored it for you?

Hi Bad Lieutenant,
No, confusion. I know it was a tie but I consider that I win as supposed to a loss.
As for who the crowd was cheering for... where you there?

I'm sorry to butt in with this, but you're an English "professor" and you always make this one mistake and I worry that you're going to pass it on to your students.

It's NOT "as supposed." That makes no sense in context. It's "as opposed."

As in opposed, coming from the same root as opposite. As in, to you, a draw is the opposite of losing, so it's a win.

"As supposed" means "as assumed."

Congrats on your fight.

PS Hey look people who will get upset that I'm correcting Amy on this, I'm already calling myself a bitch, so you don't have to!

Tie or a win = same thing, meaning it's not a lose.

Congrats on the fight Amy.
When's your next fight?

I'm sorry, but you didn't actually win, so you shouldn't be saying you did. Be proud of the tie, be happy for what you got. Don't go around claiming that you won when you didn't. It takes away your credibility as a professional. Enjoy the tie and see it as a step forward in your career.

Actually Anonymous, what do you think a tie exactly is? It's not a loss. If you look at Amy's score, she did in fact got one point more than her opponent and yes, they labelled it as a tie, but a tie is a double win; a win for her and a win for her opponent.
I for one will be the first to congrat her and tell her to celebrate it as a win. Do you know how racist Koreans are with sports? Do you know the odds she went against? That alone proves that Amy clearly was the winner her. Tie or win, same thing, it's a success and I'm sure that's what she's focusing on her. Don't try to pee on her parade. There's too many of us here that are cheering for her. Your words are snuffed out by us.

Nobody is peeing on anybody's parade. A tie is a tie. It's not a win, it's not a loss. I just said she should be proud of it. I didn't say it was a bad thing. She SHOULD BE PROUD. By calling it something that it's not, she's taking something away from how well she did.
