As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Just yesterday they looked at me and they saw this.
But now I look like this... and now those who didn't look at me before are definitely giving me looks now... not exactly great. Thankfully this is temporary and I'm trying my best to wear my "battle wounds" with pride but I miss my real face :(

Hey Amy,
You look ok Amy really. It's part of the game as I know you know. I'm so glad you won. That is great. I get a swollen lip once in a while sparring with Shawn but usually it isn't sore for long. It give me incentive to keep my gloves up properly. I hope your opponent got some herself from you and I bet she did.
Keep up the great boxing Amy you are a great inspiration really.

Hey Beth,
Thanks girl. The swelling lasted only the one night but the blue colouring (bruising) on my face lasted a good 4 days. And yes, I definitely gave my opponent some markings to remind her of me... hahaha.
