1. Played the role of the somewhat juvenile delinquent by pretending to be sleeping through all the nose in hopes that I'd avoid the whole feasting like an obese queen. Q and I had stayed over at his mother's house and well, after trying to avoid keeping up with their "marathon-eating" last night, I woke up with a bit of a tummy ache and so I played that card to get out of breakfast.
2. I'm a firm supporter of breakfast but Q's mother, as sweet as she is and as much as she means well, always insists that I eat up a storm. And she's quite happy to sit beside me, handing me over and over this and that to eat. I once ate something like 4 oranges and 2 apples in one sitting because she insisted I must be hungry.
3. This morning, as I peered out at all the commotion, I caught a glimpse of a massive plate, plates upon plates actually, of fruit but I was determined not to be forced to eat a small country's worth of fruit so I ignored their noise and hid under my covers.
4. Next thing I knew it, Q's mother was lifting up my top and rubbing my tummy... oh gosh. Not exactly how I'd like to wake up let alone ever encounter with anyone. She was convinced I must be suffering from a stomach virus and so she had trekked out to the local pharmacy for some medicine. I didn't know what to say, my tummy was fine but she had been so sweet in her efforts and so I tucked the handful of pills under my tongue, drank the nasty ginseng juice she handed me, and then put the soggy pills in my pocket when she left the room.
5. Arrived in Cheonan around 2pm and so with it being my last official day of vacation, we headed out to Dono Marco for a wickedly delicious late lunch.
6. Lunch was followed by some downtown shopping. I was hoping to pick out a new outfit for my first day of school tomorrow but had no luck finding something that really caught my eye. No worries, I have new perfume for my first day of school. Q bought me that last week. Now my Anna Sui perfume collection is almost completed. (Check out "Dolly Dolly"... that's what I'm currently wearing; it's beautiful)
7. Q is convinced that Mi Nam in fact does understand what I say to him... hahaha. I say this because yesterday he teased me about telling Mi Nam what time exactly I'd be returning on Sunday. When we returned today at my promised time, not only was the house exactly the way I left it but Mi Nam was sitting, waiting at the door for me.
8. Checked out Jennifer Aniston's new movie, "Marley and Me", which I must note here that at the movieplex they translated "and Me" and so the movie title was pronounced more like "Marijuana"... hahaha. I thought it'd be some kind of hippie movie based on the "Marijuana" title but was a bit confused as to where the dog would come in... hahaha. Great movie... excellent actually!
9. During the movie I scanned the audience and noted all the teary-eyed girls. I was guilty of being one of these girls too today. I love movies like this though, movies that hit a sensitive point in us and stir up intense emotions.
10. Arrived home, scooped up Mi Nam and told him how I've always thought he was the best of best dogs. And I think I'm right about that. Mi Nam is pretty awesome, to say the very least.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Did anyone else think it strange that they celebrate with a glass of wine after they discover Aniston's pregnant?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
A dog doesn't care if you're rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his.
-- from the movie "Marley and Me"
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
