2. Plantar fasciitis, that’s what I had and that’s what I have again. And like the mornings of past when I experienced this same foot injury, mornings are very painful and usually consist of me massaging my foot for a good five minutes before I can even walk on it. Thankfully, this time around, I only have it in my right foot.
3. Today’s reading article in my reading class was titled “Are Sports Bad for You?” and considering the beatings I get at boxing, the constant stress to monitor my weight, the stress of the actual training on my body, and the fact that I’m told to train even when injured, I’d have to say that yes, sports are bad for me. Now throw in the fact that the sport I excel in and participate in six days a week consists of taking punches to my head and numerous body shot combos, I’d say it’s quite ironic that I play sports to keep fit but the very sport I play is what constantly leaves me exhausted, bruised, and dealing with injuries…. But I wouldn’t change any of it for the world! Plantar fasciitis or no platar fasciitis, four-foot beating stick or no beating stick, I love my boxing!!!... hahaha.
4. Planning my Power Point for my listening and pronunciation class was annoyingly frustrating.
5. Didn’t go to training tonight on account that I really don’t care to risk having to have surgery on my foot like I almost had to last time because I pushed myself too far. So I stayed home… and yes, I sulked a little, hahaha.
6. Dyed my hair tonight… and apparently my forehead, too. Oh gosh. While waiting for my hair dye to process a rockin’ tune came on my computer and I just couldn’t resist the urge to break out the Jackson moves. However, in doing so, I ended up spreading the hair dye… on my forehead, back, eyelids, mouth,… couch… Mi Nam. Oops, hahaha.
7. Did some of my weekly cooking:
- hard-boiled 20 eggs
- boiled 3 family packs worth of chicken breasts
- pan-fried 1 family pack worth of chicken breast
- steamed five sweet potatoes
8. Yup, that’s about the extent of my cooking. I use to get all creative with my veggies by making stir-fry and steaming various veggies but I’m on this raw-kick now. Celery sticks are now my new best friend… hahaha. I even eat my broccoli raw now which, I must note, was strange at first and tookme some time to get use to it but now I love it.
My Weekly Grocery List:
- boneless chicken breasts
- eggs
- canned tuna (in water)
- sweet potatoes
- whole wheat rice cakes
- unsalted crackers
- low fat milk
- fat-free yogurt
- Oriental style salad dressing
- apples
- oranges
- almonds
- cashews
- celery
- tomatoes
- broccoli
- onions
- green peppers
- red peppers
- lettuce
- salad mixes
- bottled water (and LOTS of it)
9. I can’t stand Korean apples and miss my Granny Smith and Macintosh apples but apples are the best fruit for making me feel full and so I eat the yucky Korean apples. And yes, I buy salad mixes even though I can make my own. I miss my skim milk so I try not to drink too much milk. Instead, I drink water… and a lot of it. On average, I’d say that I go through about six 2 liter bottles of water in about 4 days.
10. Oh gosh… I’ve got tons of Korean homework this week. Thirty pages from my workbook, about twenty or so sentences to translate into Korean, and of course my daily Korean diary. And the odd thing is, I like it… hahaha. I like being somewhat bogged down with homework because at least this way it keeps me focused and makes me work at it.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Why are some people so quick to jump the gun and miss the whole point of a rhetorical question?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
This strange disease of modern life, with its sick hurry, its divided aims.

1. Ouch. I remember when I broke my thumb and I couldn't play football for the rest of the season...hopefully this doesn't last long =D
2. I looked it up on wikipedia...not fun.
3. I read an article once about girls in soccer and how there are a tremendous about of girls tearing their ACLs and ruining their legs. I hope you aren't getting hurt =(
6. Do you always get naked to dye your hair? haha :P
7. So you make it one day, then eat it over the course of a week?
8. Fruit! Ew! And tuna? YUCK. I love almonds though =)
9. I can't do the math...how many bottles is that a day? I've been considering drinking more water so I don't eat so much fatty foods. If I did it, I'd have to have those sweetner packs that make the water taste like fruit punch for 1 gram of sugar. Sweet deal
10. I like when doing homework makes me feel smart. Yet math just makes me feel stupid.
Question of the Day!
I'm going to hope this also isn't a rhetorical question...I think sometimes it can be misleading. Especially across languages. But with anyone really, some people misunderstand tone, and end up looking like an idiot...
Quote of the Day!
It took me three tries to get this lol. I think with the more advanced technology gets, the faster and more complicated things will get. But overall, I think the world is filled with as much hope, chaos, love, hate, surprises, happiness, and chaos as it always has. It's easy to get lost in it all and think things are worse than they are.
Get better soon! Or else! =D

Amy: You don't need to worry about surgery for plantar fascitis...it is a very, very common injury. I have it because I run. All you need to do is simply stretch the heck out of your calves. Believe it or not, your calf muscle is directly responsible for under your foot. I stretch my calves as many times as I can during the day. I don't stretch just before or after running (I do but not only then) I stretch it when I am walking up the stairs (this is actually perfect place). Plantar Fascitis also doesn't mean you have to stop training, you can continue to train with it because as you stretch those calf muscles it will work itself out. Mine worked itself out in about a week and I still have some minor irritation when I wake up but not like before when I couldn't walk in the morning. Also, arch supports are a good fix that you can slip into your shoe.
Yo Bman,
Ya, my foot injury definitely isn't fun. I had it about the same time last year... second time fun is just as NOT fun as the first.
Hahaha.. I wasn't naked in those pictures. I had a tube top on but it's a ghetto flurescent orange and so I didn't want it in the shot...lol.
Water is a great way to fill up so that you don't eat quite as much. It's no replacement for a healthy balanced diet though.
Thanks, I will get better soon... or else... hahaha.
Hi Tracey,
Good to know. I think my doctor just told me that maybe to spook me. I'm still wearing my high heels though... lol. I didn't realize that the calf muscle was so directly connected, so ok. I'll definitely stretch them. I've been stretching my foot a lot during training but because the boxing club floor is so cold, and considering how thin boxing boots are, my feet stay cold longer than the rest of my body and I definitely feel it :(
Thanks for the tips and advice though!
