1. My morning listening and pronunciation class continues to suck the energy from me. It’s like I’m their weekly energy source and they come to my class for the sole purpose of taking my energy. Today they were quite successful.
2. Good news… great news… actually, cross that out, it’s awesome news!!! Last week I commented on my homepage about a particular female student who repeatedly shows up for class in quite an “interesting” state and how I gave her two weeks before she failed my class… well… she didn’t show up today. Correction, she showed up but she showed up so late that I couldn’t even mark her attendance as late. Instantly I felt so disappointed. Today’s marked absent would mean that she failed my class… failed my class one week earlier than I had expected. Of course I didn’t want her to fail but I was definitely not expecting what happened next.
3. So… she stayed for the rest of the class and really tried to participate. I was so shocked. She participated, took notes, and even took me by the hand to the corner of the classroom where she asked me what she could do. I suggested she come to another one of my lectures this week. As class ended and students filed out, she approached me again and asked for the time and location of my Thursday listening classes.
4. You know when you’re just about to give up on someone and right them off, but then they come back right in the nick of time?! Well, that’s exactly what happened today and I felt so great to see it go down. OK, fair enough, so her comeback was a desperate attempt and might be temporary but at least it was an attempt and that has to stand for something. Any attempt from this particular student at this point is definitely worth taking note.
5. My second class of the day definitely is greeted by a mentally exhausted me every week because of my first class but they repeatedly are successful with picking up my spirits and recharging me. I call them my little lambs… hahaha… because whenever I take attendance they always say “Nah” [translation: “yes”] and it reminds me of a lamb. It’s now our ongoing joke and so they blurt out “They’re a lamb” whenever someone answers “Nah” during role call… hahaha.
6. No sooner had I returned home from work but I was heading out the door again. I had another photo shoot with Pixel at the boxing club scheduled for 4pm.
7. Pixel had brought along with him a picture of the style of photo shoot he was aiming for. The image was of a male boxer leaning against the ring. He was rather sexy and rugged looking but with a boxing club full of junior high school students all overlooking the photo shoot, I felt so shy and silly trying to do the same pose. Ended up laughing at myself and blushing.
8. With work ending at 3pm, the photo shoot ending at 5:30pm and then boxing ending at 6:30pm, I had the whole evening free. I never have the whole evening free like this. A good chunk of my evenings are always swallowed up by training but by 7pm I had ate, showered and was wondering “What the heck do I do now?!”… hahaha.
9. Apparently Mi Nam has designated one of the Kimbab Chunkuk ladies as his girlfriend. A couple of them occasionally open up their restaurant door and call out to Mi Nam when we pass by. Occasionally they also give him food but there’s this one particular Kimbab Chunkuk young lady who Mi Nam appears to be in love with, or at least teases her so she’ll feed him… hahaha. Today he saw her and ran up to the window to stare at her. With his front two paws on the window and her two hands up against the other side of the glass, it looked so cute. She ran to the door, swung it open and handed Mi Nam three big chunks of cooked egg. She would have given him more too but I insisted that he and I had to get going. Mi Nam, of course, gave up quite the fight with me and so I ended up having to pick him up and carry him away… hahaha.
10. Spent the rest of my evening studying Korean and then I watched a Korean documentary on crocodiles where they slit open one croc's stomach to check out what it had ate... nasty!
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
What are you persistent with?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
The road to success is dotted with many tempting parking places.

As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

1. How do they drain you? Like, they don't participate or OVERLY participate?
2,3,4. This reminds me of classes I had where the teacher would give out little "Awards" for TWO categories;the highest scorer and the MOST IMPROVED. I always felt I was cheated by the latter, because I was never going to get the 110% grade, but I felt my 98% was good enough. Yet we give the kid who never studies an award because he got a 78%, improved from a 45% from last time?
6,7. In your older posts you would have picture GALLERIES with 20+ photos. Now its more like 2. You should definitely post these pictures up when you get them.
QUESTION OF THE DAY!
Persistent...hmmm...sounds like an annoying type of consistent. Well, I always try to fix my computer problems, no matter what. Sometimes that means going a MONTH without internet, installing parts that end up deleting my files, etc. In the end its worth it though.
Quote of the Day
Very true. But then again, when do you know you're done? Maybe the whole point is success is not a place to reach, but an ongoing process. Hmmmm...such a deep quote haha.
Love you sis,
Bman =D
Yo Bman,
They drain me because they don't participate. It's like they're a bunch of manicanes and I'm some alien... hahaha. But seriously, it's really hard to face them every week when I'm the only one sporting energy. And because of my training and clean eating, my energy levels are definitely higher than most, so I feel like I'm bouncing off the walls by myself.
OK, OK, I'll try to post more pictures. It's just hard cause everyday I take pics but feel somewhat camera-happy... trigger happy... hahaha.
