Today marked Father’s Day, well, technically tomorrow will Father’s Day considering Korea doesn’t celebrate it and today is tomorrow for Canada... did I lose you?
In the afternoon I drove over to my father-in-law’s house on the scooter with Snickers. He was busy making herbal medicine and getting super dirty doing so. He bought me a popsicle – my latest addiction – and we chatted for a bit.
I called up my father to wish him a happy Father’s Day and Snickers jumped in on the conversation. I’m happy to note just how excited Snickers is to meet my family in Canada and it was so evident when he briefly talked to my parents on the phone. Instantly at the sound of my parent’s voice, Snickers went from being a 26-year-old man to that of a 12-year-old child. He got really giggly and equally smiley.
“Hello mom! My name is…” he giggled out to my mom.
“Hello! My name is Mommy”, she replied… hahaha.
So cute!!!
In less than two months I’ll be sitting beside my mom and dad, sipping on Tim Horton’s coffee, and chatting with them in English… wow, won’t it be grand!!!
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
How great is your dad?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Happiness is having a large, loving, caring, close-knit family in another city.
-- George Burns
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
