I’ve been so busy these past couple days so here’s a very brief recap of them:
SATURDAY
Had a job interview for a temporary teaching position but I may have very well landed a personal training/dietitian-assistant position. Upon mentioning that I do professional boxing my interviewer (Korean woman) jumped in and asked me if I saw Sung Hoon’s fight last weekend.
“Did I see that fight?!” I sarcastically said, “I waited all week to see my boy fight!”
And well, one thing lead to another and next thing I knew it she was throwing questions at me left right and center about how she could go about losing weight with her hectic business woman lifestyle.
SUNDAY
Challenged myself more than I had expected when I jumped into my training clothes and headed out for my 10km run. The morning started off rainy, so I held back and waited for it at least to stop. By the time I got out running it was coming up to 2pm and the sun was starting to poke it’s head out. Dang sun almost kicked my butt!!!
Frustrations galore with this whole Philippine trip. I’m going down on a different plane than Snickers and Junior Mint. I won’t get into the fact that they told me the WRONG ISLAND!!! I know have to take a boat over to their island, frustrating but easy enough. However, today I found out they don’t even have a hotel booked!!! The promoter didn’t book a hotel… so where the heck am I supposed to meet up with them?! It was hard enough to get this particular promoter to guarantee the fight but no hotel now, come one --- this isn’t brain surgery people!!!
TODAY… MONDAY
With a bunch of errands to do before I loaded my bus to the airport at 4pm, I stopped for a breather and took my two favorite Koreans boys out for ice cream – Snickers and Buff Boy the Original.
Converted money, printed off my plane ticket, gave Mi Nam a bath, packed for the trip, and went running.
Still no hotel booked so if all else fails I’ll wing my way in the Philippines and show up for the fight. I have no idea what time the fight is but I do in fact know where it’ll be held.
4pm – bus to Incheon
9:20pm – board my plane to Cebu, Philippines
1am – arrive in the Philippines
[kill time here doing God knows what]
5am – take a taxi to the port and board a boat that goes to Bohol, Philippines
[sleep somewhere… where?! maybe go shopping]
4:30pm – go to the airport because Snickers and Junior Mint will be arriving
I won't be back till Monday, July 19th early morning (well, that's the hopeful plan) so I'm not too sure if I'll be able to post any kind of updates on my homepage until then. I don't know whether or not I'm excited about this trip or what considering the big missing pieces in the plan on someone else's behalf. I'm trying to be optimistic though. The purpose of this trip is to continue my support of Snickers, so it'll probably consist of a lot of beachside running, doing laps in the pool, and laying around at the beach.
Snickers woke up in great condition today and is looking forward to his Saturday fight with Jason Pagara of the Philippines. Jason is stepping into the ring with quite the impressive record of 22 wins (KO by 11) and 11 loss, and is a very young boxer. Though Snickers may stand at an disadvantage being the out-of-country boxer, Snickers' impressively high percentage of knock-outs (7 out of his 10 wins were KOs) and already proven stubborn determination and drive to win, as proven by the fact that even jail walls couldn't stop him from getting what he wanted (a title match), he's preparing to give up and beyond the 120% he's already been giving. It's going to be a great fight and it'll be held at the Garcia Football Stadium in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
What situation have you bit into lately?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
