My days are rather different than him consequently because my goals for training are much different. On days for me consist of my high carb days and low carb days. My off day is my no carb day.
Today was my no carb day, so I had to stick to only eating veggies and protein for all six meals, and it was an off day for Snickers.
We had planned to go eat Korean chicken soup today which satisfied both our diet expectations and restrictions. Unlike Western chicken soup, Korean chicken soup has no noodles but it does have some rice added into it, of which both Snickers and I left at the bottom of the bowl.
No carb days are brutal – no protein packed pancake with blueberries and absolutely no fruit for the whole day. It’s just a lots of veggies and lots of protein – tuna, chicken and eggs.
Tomorrow is my high carb day so hooray for that!!! High carb day comes twice a week in my life and it’s the two days of the week I’m able to fill up on carbs and eat lots of fruit. Mind ya, with high carb day comes high intensity training.
In other news, I didn’t do my running today. I’ve been quite religious with running 5-6 times a week but today I was running on minus energy levels. Eating that chicken soup put me in a kind of comatose, so it was lights out for me. I had a three hour nap after it… yikes!!!NO CARB DAY
6/6 meals = veggies + protein (so NO fruit and NO carbs)LOW CARB DAY
3/6 meals = protein, small carb + small fruitHIGH CARB DAY
4/6 meals = protein, carb (amount = your heart’s desire) + small fruitEVERY DAY
Must incorporate at least 1 cup of veggies into 3/6 meals.
Aim is to drink more than 3 liters of water a day.
Though I didn’t get in my running today I definitely got in my boxing and weight training, plus some! Tonight some of the guys at boxing asked me to help them with weight training after Junior Mint pointed them in my direction. One guy, whom I'll now refer to as Beef Boy, is a rather shy guy whom I've known for months but have never ever heard a peep from. He usually sticks to him self but is friendly in that he smiles and always looks happy. Tonight he asked me to teach him some basics of weight training. Like his name implies, he's a rather beefy boy and he's looking to put on some muscle and trim up his midsection.
I headed into boxing late tonight and ended up getting into some random competitions with a couple of the amateur boxers. After training for a little over an hour, we then thought it “fun” to have a push-up competition. Well, one competition led to another. Pushing the limits with the push-ups then led to a chin-up competition and an ab work-out competition. For the ab competition we did three kinds of exercises. I killed my competition on the sit-ups part, tied for the human plank exercise, but got ruined on the ab roller exercise.
I laughed at our self-inflicted painful competition but had to stop – it hurt too much to laugh, so the last laugh was definitely on us… hahaha… ouch.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
What is fun to you?
