As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Touch my Protein and die!!!... Friday, July 9

I’ve been so preoccupied with helping Snickers with his training that it’s taken over pretty much everything else I’ve got going on. Tonight was the first night in a long, long time that I actually got out of the house to do any kind of remote socializing.

Headed out to Little America to see my buddy, T-Toe Tomato.

I’ve been living in Korea for well over five years now and so, for the most part, Western things that I use to miss have been either long forgotten about or replaced. Tonight, however, I stepped into a very Western-style apartment and was bombarded of all the Western things I use to be surrounded by.

Earlier on we had gone on the Air Force base to pick up protein and then groceries for supper. My eyes immediately widened at the sight of shelves upon shelves of protein. I'm rather picky with my choice in protein and favor 100% Whey Protein by Gold Standard. It's both low in calories and carbs but high in protein... but enough free advertising there... anyways... I wanted to take one of each but settled for only buying 2lbs of Gold Standard strawberry-flavored protein and opted to test out my buddy's suggestion by grabbing 2lbs of chocolate-flavored protein by Nitro-Tech.

I’ve never been one to wear my shoes in the house but we definitely don’t wear them in Korean homes and are often expected to take them off at schools and restaurants. Tonight I stepped into T-Toe Tomato’s house and was told to keep my shoes on.

I sat and chatted with T-Toe Tomato as he fired up the BBQ outside (dang I miss a good outdoor cook-out) and worked away at making us dinner. He laughed at my excitement when I spotted a can of Pam cooking spray in his cupboard and then read off the list of groceries I hope to pick up in Canada.

Dinner consisted of asparagus, totally Western-style rice, and stake loaded with spices and herbs that T-Toe Tomato noted if he told me his secret mix he’d have to kill me… hahaha. I might risk it though cause that stake was to die for delish!!!
