As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Was It Always this Smelly?!... Friday, August 27

Honestly, I’m not in the mood to flood my homepage with Canada trip updates and photos, nor am I in the mood to be in Korea. I will update, just be patient and wait though. Thanks.

It was a long, long trip back but making the long journey back felt so different because I did it with Snickers. I’ve always struggled with the long travel back on my own so it was quite comforting to have him by my side for it all.

As for Korea, I missed my beautiful Mi Nam, my scooter and my boxing. It feels good to be back training. I went for morning runs while in Canada but those runs consisted of chilly mornings and larger-than-life trucks and SUVs racing by me at too-close-for-comfort distances. I had forgotten how much chiller Canadian summers are and then I forgot about how much hotter Korean summers are – meaning I froze in Canada and now I’m sweating to death in Korea. None the less, I did get out for a good mid afternoon run today in which I literally lost almost a kilo and a half in sweat – crazy stuff, I know. I stopped by the boxing club tonight to see my coach and Monday I’ll be back training. Feels good to be back doing my daily runs and it’ll feel even better to get back into my boxing.

Today I spent a good chunk of my day designated towards Mi Nam. When I originally returned to Korea the other day, I raced up the stairs and scooped Mi Nam up in my arms. He was all too happy to see me and ended up peeing, thankfully not totally on me. Panty Boy Jr. took care of him but I take it he spoiled him with loads of food and goodies. The little football player body he use to sport is now plump and pudgy. Regardless, he still is as cute as a button. I bought him this wicked spiked leather collar so after I trekked around the river with him and then took him to the doggy spa, I gave him the collar I had promised I’d buy him. He looks like such a cute tough cookie now… hahaha.

Back in Canada, Snickers swore he’d get serious about studying English and I swore I’d teach Mi Nam a couple of tricks and manners, including walking beside me without a leash – a task that always starts off good by ends with him running off and me chasing after him.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Why would anyone have a kid when dogs are just so much more cooler?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
A kid will eat you out of house and home but the worst a dog will do is eat parts of your home.
