As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

My boxing club may be closed on Sundays but trust me, Sundays are always packed with boxing and training. Today I had 11.5 hours of it-- 1 hour of personal training, 6 hours at the K1 gym in Osan, 2 hours of watching Korean boxing on TV at Ggum Guum, and then an hour and a half run to cap off the night.
Killed my long run distance by running 15km tonight!!!

Hello,

I think you run a lot. I 'm wondering if you don't have any problem with your knees.. you never complain about it. Just curious:P

have a nice day,

Gabby

Hi Gabby,
Yes, I do run a lot -- am addicted to it in a way. You raise a good concern but I am happy to note that the path around Dankook that I run on is made up of a kind of spongy material so it absorbs some of the shock my knees would otherwise be taking. I ususally run on part of the grass when I first start off my run (the part beside the river) and thankfully there's only about half a kilometer, if that, that's actually ran on road.
