Okay, so I’ve missed a couple of days of updates, so sue me. It’s been a strange week.
Missing Monday's phone call by THREE SILLY MINUTES was enough weight to carry but Tuesday morning I woke up to a totally unexpected phone call. It was Snickers calling. Actually, he called me twice on Tuesday!!! I laughed, I cried, I promised to go kick s$$ if anyone hurt him, and I must have told him a million times how much I love and missed him. He had discovered the book of letters I had made for him and noted that he's going to read one letter a day. Tuesday's phone calls were nothing short of sweet but were ended with the harsh reality that I have no idea when I'll be able to hear from him again. It might not be until next month... brutal!!!
With Snickers being MIA, random people have been checking up on me. First it was my coach and then one of my teammates dropped by Ggum Guum, twice actually. Snickers' close friends Old Rock and Mouse Doctor have kind of been appointed as guardians of me by Snickers, meaning that Snickers asked them to look out for me. It's really unnecessary but sweet. Old Rock texted me the other day, "Amy, if you are bored, have a problem, want to play... message me and I will come." Many others have texted me, some have even done "drive-by check-ups", pulling up to the front of my house, honking, and then yelling out my name... hahaha.
Out of all the girlfriends of Snickers' friends whom I've met Cheeto Girl is the only one I really click with, so it was a nice surprise when she texted me. One of my sister-in-laws texted me, "Amy... don't be sad or lonely. Come to our house to see my mom and me. Let's often meet because we are family." Visiting her however will have to wait on account of the massive roads I'll have to conquor on Gotti to get there.
Having all these unexpected people "check up" on me has been sweet and all but not needed. It actually makes me miss Snickers more.
Beyond Snickers being MIA, I’ve started three new tutoring gigs, two of which are at Samsung so they’re pretty sweet gigs there! My third new tutoring job is at a church out in the sticks of Cheonan at a church. Don’t let it being out in the sticks fool you though, this church is anything but country-style. It’s a modern four-story church with a café on the first floor. I teach two classes there, one directed towards elementary students and the second being directed towards middle and high school students. On Monday the church director and his wife treated us all to a surprise pizza party in between classes so that was very sweet of them. I only have 11 students in total there, all of which are shy and cute but all of which I’ve already have either pinched, poked, or pretended to punch… hahaha.
I’m hoping to pick up one more tutoring gig, a position at Daewoo Securities on Saturdays. I had a job interview for it yesterday and aced it when my interviewer told me to start listing off (and explain) different things I’d do in a classroom with a red board marker. I had a two minute time limit. I came up with 12 things, of which painting my finger nails with the marker and tattooing my arm were my most creative answers.
Despite being busier than usual because of my addition responsibilities (new tutoring gigs) I’ve had a lot of time on my hands but haven’t been too productive with it. I find that when I’m bored I either eat or I sleep. The food in my house is dwindling down so I’ve resorted to sleeping… sleeping a lot! I kid you not when I tell you that yesterday I laid down around 3pm and didn’t wake up until 5am THIS MORNING!!! I slept 14 hours straight… yikes.
Filling my agenda with pointless lists of things to do, that range from the practical reminders (wire money for rent) to the silly (paint my finger nails), has been one way I’ve tried to keep myself busy and off the track of becoming a sleepaholic lazy bum. I’ve even gone so far as to type up a tentative schedule.
On my list of many things to do was returning the DVD that Snickers and I rented last weekend. He had purposely left it at Ggum Guum and told me that it was my mission. Completing this proposed mission meant getting over my fear of driving Gotti on the downtown busy streets. Mission completed, mind ya I think I kind of cheated. I woke up early, early Wednesday morning, like at 2am, and drove it back to the movie rental place. I was basically the only one of the road but I still insisted on driving like 2 miles an hour and my knees knocked as I drove. I had to laugh at myself after too because not so long ago I use to race around town on Panty Boy’s racing bikes. I blame my fear on the brutal Daejon crash I had a while back that landed me a weekend in the hospital and left me not being able to sit on one my “cheeks” for about a month.
Yesterday I pretty much mastered driving Gotti, with the exception of not being confident enough to change lanes while doing about 70 clicks on a busy massive street. Not being able to take on changing lanes meant missing many of the turns I could have taken to get back home. Ya… feel free to laugh at me here.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
How do you keep yourself busy?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Once bitten, twice shy.

As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Hi Fabi,
Hahaha.. oh gosh. I'd love to do more videos but the new computer I have has no kind of video editing on it. I loved using Windows Movie Maker but I don't have it anymore :( It's been a long time and you know what, I'm ALWAYS thinking of new video ideas. They take a long time to make and edit but they're a lot of fun. I really need to get some kind of editing program.
