As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

RACE DAY TOMORROW!!!... Saturday, November 13

Just thought I'd leave a brief note before I head off to Ilsan. With tomorrow being my half marathon but it being in Seoul, the plan is to sleep over at Cherry Pie's house tonight and then head over to the race location with her and her hubby tomorrow morning. I've backed an overnight bag and it's filled with oatmeal, blueberries, extra socks, my iPod... everything minus the kitchen sink... hahaha.
I'm totally stoked about participating in my first half marathon and at this point I could honestly care less about the promised mad cash from my sponsor if I do it under the two hour mark. I just really want to get out there, represent, and have a fun day of running along the river path and being cheered on by a couple of my K-Crew members. Thank you shout-outs to my K-Crew at UP Boxing Club for all their continual support, friends and family (both in Korea and Canada), to all those other runners out there tracing around the Dankook lake who gave me some good competition while training, to my boxing sponsors who financially support me, and to many of my homepage commenters, like Beth and Fabi, who always encourage me. Thank you.
I am definitely looking forward to tomorrow's race. The only problem now is that I am way too hyper and doubt I'll be able to fall asleep... hahaha.
See you at the finish line!!!

Wow Amy, you said something important: you're going there not to compete and get "mad cash" from your sponsor but to have a fun day of running. This shows how honest you are and I keep on supportin' you more and more; wish you all the best dear.
Ps- Really nice to see my name in your sentence, I am flattered :)
Cheers, dear Amy.

Hi Fabi,
Despite being frustrated about not making my goal, it was a great run and yes, I did really have fun. I think my frustration came not in getting that cash bonus but in that I hadn't reached my goal. I am SO about goal setting and goal crushing!!!
Glad you're flattered cause it's always nice to see comments from you -- very flattering to me so thank YOU!

Hey Beth,
Thanks Beth. I slept okay and yes, it was a great run!
