As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Go Away Old Man Winter... Tuesday, January 4

Lately me getting out of the house has reached an all-time low. Two of my tutoring students come over three days a week for tutoring, my personal training clients meet at my house, and I've even gone so far as to lure friends over for coffee instead of hitting the coffee shop.

Shopping, a act that for most girls makes their pupils dialate, only interests me if it's shopping for food, so shopping for anything beyond food is done online, via GMarket, yet another way I've avoided leaving the house. And now that I'm nursing an injuried left wrist, I'm under the doctor's orders to not do any strainuous work with my wrist, so weight training or boxing is out of the question for the time being. Daily trips to the boxing club have been totally cancelled out consequently, and my training lately has consisted of doing bodyweight routines withing Ggum Guum and heading out to go jogging.

I love jogging in the briskness of the season but that's pretty much the extent of me liking all this snow and chilly weather. I don't even like heading out in this weather even if Snickers heads out to warm up the car for me. I just want all this snow and cold chilly weather to go away. Morning drives to Samsung for brutally early morning tutoring are accompanied with a quick prayer to God, telling him that it's quite all right if he lets my student sleep in and tell me not to come. Tutoring is going really good but the five minute chilly and slippery walk from the main gate to my student's building way across the Samsung property leaves me feeling like I need defrosting afterwards.

Today my Samsung Student messaged me, telling me that he was sick, so we had no class today. I only work one hour on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so besides my anticipated daily jog, I was quite happy with hibernating all day in Ggum Guum.

Snickers managed to lure me out of the house. He lured me out with food -- a trip out to Costco in Daejon. Loaded up on oatmeal, blueberries, curry, and other delish and healthy goodies.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
When is scooter-riding Gotti weather going to return?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Don't knock the weather. If it didn't change once in a while, nine out of ten people couldn't start a conversation.

I'm assuming you know how to spell injured and that one was a just a typo.

What do you do when your students ask how to spell something? Tell them to look it up because you don't know either?
