Today marked the first official weekend day with no construction workers drilling at 8am, no Pyun Chi the Pee Master Beast of Fur nipping at my toes, no extra work to catch up on... but also no Snickers.
I had the day all to myself so instead of going out and having my ears filled with the busyness of others, I stayed in with Mi Nam and bathed in the silence. Oh the sweet, sweet, oh so longed for silence.
By the time Snickers came home from work I had exhausted, used and abused my golden day of silence and was itching for some conversation, beyond that which I had had with Mi Nam that is... hahaha.
So I took my man out for dinner at one of our favorite local hotspots -- The Sushi Den -- where we pretty much ate our weight in oh so delish tuna! We were in quite an odd mood tonight, the two of us totally needing a picker-upper from the busy week, but the bottle of beer the sushi master sent our way pushed us into quite a loopy mood. Both Snickers and I rarely drink and I'll be the first to say I can't handle beer nor do I like it. Having said that, despite drinking half a glass of beer on a semi-full tummy of raw tuna, I was insantly thrown into giggle mode. Snickers, on the other hand, had entered into pilosophical mode which is quite entertaining when you consider the fact he tries to get philisophical but in English... limited, broken but oh-so heartfelt English.
"I am happy man you're my wife. MY wife. Why my wife? I don't know, but God give me you... he is good man. Cheers God"
"Did you just cheers God?" I asked.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Did you get that?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
I will not eat oysters. I want my food dead. Not sick. Not wounded. Dead.
-- Woody Allen
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
