As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Today was Teacher's Day and it greeted me in the form of many flowers, gifts, and cards on my desk. Very sweet!

The above card was from one of my favorite mini-Koreans, a little boy whom all regard as strange and quite "unique" to say the least but it's because he's totally that plus some that I think he's just so awesome.

It was a four-paged card -- 2 pages of Korean and 2 of English. Translation for these pages is: "Amy teacher I love you. Please take care of your health" [my allergies continue to haunt me]. What really was special about this particular card however was how he tried to write an English message to me. I should note here that beyond the English they've picked up from me their English is still rather low so him attempting to write in English is amazing!

Hi Amy,
That was nice of the students to do that. They know you are a good teacher for sure. :)
