As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Hi Amy,
I like that picture of you with one of your ex opponents. Are you working on your arms and still boxing? That was something she was there fighting and you got to meet with her. I wish there were descriptions of your bouts that you’ve had. How was your match with her? Looks are deceiving aren’t they? She doesn’t look that much next to you. I know the feeling with my sparring partner Shauna. I sometimes get lulled to sleep going towards her during a spar and get thumped with one of those lethal left jabs. I’m glad I have a girl my weight and size to spar with of course because I love the challenge. I like the fact that we get along good and at the end of the session she’ll point out what I did wrong or patch me up. The last session she told me my nose was bleeding a little so she put in a Q-tip. The hazards of the sport right? It happens. :(
I’m glad you stay up with the boxing and hope you keep training Amy. Hope to hear from you. :)

Hey Beth,
I'm brutal for responding to comments, I am so sorry. I usually check my emails on my cell phone so responding isn't so easy.
Thanks for the compliment... you're always full of sweet encouraging things to say to me.
Yes, I'm still very much into my boxing and I've started weight training more intensly these days as opposed to doing a lot of running. My bouts are probably online but they're on Korean websites. I'll try to see what I can do. As for my match we Mi Ran, it was my first fight and she won. I went in expecting to win because I was the obvious stronger boxer, in terms of muscle strength that is. I was heartbroken when I lost cause I had hyped it up so much in my head and it was hyped up among my teammates and the media.
I'm still so jealous that you have a sparring partner who totally helps you out. Thanks awesome, don't ever be ungrateful!
By the way, drop me your address. I'm trying to get a little something to pump you up for boxing and to say thank you for all your awesome encouragement. I really do look forward to your comments and am grateful for you. Email me your addy at Flipsidegirl@rocketmail.com
I'm heading to Canada tomorrow until August 8th so I'll be sure to mail it when I get back.
Hey Amy,
Thanks for commenting on this. I sent you an email on this.
Beth
