As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Flat Stanley Day... Thursday, December 27

The beauty of hitting a rock bottom low is that you can only go up from there.  That is unless you’re not quite at the bottom.  Hmmm….

Yesterday was quite the emotional and overly stressful day, a rock bottom kind of day, so today I distracted myself from thinking about it by focusing on a little project my cousin’s daughter had sent me -- Flat Stanley.

Today was all about Flat Stanley, sorting out which pictures among the many we took that we wanted to send to my cousin’s daughter and editing some of them.  I take it I’ll have to Photoshop some ones of me with my teammates considering as of yesterday I am officially done training at UP Boxing Club.  Big boo to that… BOO!

The point of this Flat Stanley project is to take pictures of my community so that she and her classmates can learn about different communities.  What defines a community though?  Is it your city or just a specific block radius around where you live?  I wasn’t quite sure so I tried to center in on the immediate area around my house, after all, I pretty much live, play and work within a five block radius anyways.
