As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Under the knife... Monday, December 10

Snickers is going under the knife... again.

He had surgery on his hand after he broke it for the 9th time... yes, I said the ninth time.  Now he's got a metal plate in his hand so he's turning into a kind of super human.

He and I are on par with how many times we've broken our nose -- three times, but I've had surgery on mine.  With this upcoming year being a much anticipated and much expected busy year for us, it's now or never if he wants to have nose surgery.  I happen to like his nose and the fact that it's rather flat looking and squishy -- I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate me calling it squishy though.

I'd be against the surgery if it were just for vanity but the fact that he sounds like he's struggling to breath when he sleeps isn't cool.  "You remind me of Mi Nam" I once told him and he hasn't forgotten about that comment since.  Both Mi Nam and Snickers breath so strangely when they sleep.  It's not really snoring, it's kind of borderline snorting actually... hahaha.

We got the go-ahead from our insurance company for his surgery so tomorrow we'll be meeting with a doctor at Dankook University Hospital because our usual hospital -- Metro Hospital -- doesn't do this kind of surgery.  I joked with him, telling him I'll punch him in the nose if he's stuck in the hospital on Christmas.
