When I met up with a friend for coffee and another one texted to tell me she had to cancel, I suspected something was off. I double-booked a coffee date?! I’m now back in Cheonan, done with teaching at the camp and back to my leasurely life of exercise and planning for the new club. Apparently I’m not quite back into the swing of things though.
I had returned from my coffee date with my head buzzing. I couldn’t focus on the buildings ahead of me, nor could I look down at my feet without getting dizzy, and when I returned home, I flopped on the couch beside Snickers feeling a bit punch-drunk. My friend and I always drink black coffee when we meet but it’s been over a month since I’ve had black coffee; I snuck the occasional cappacino at the camp. Turns out not only did she order me a black coffee (an Americano) but she got an extra shot of espresso added… woozers. So that explained why I was definitely having focus problems with my eyes but it didn’t explain me feeling like I was in some kind of twilight zone. So I came home feeling super strange but that wasn’t the biggest mix up.
Snickers was on the phone when I had flopped on the coach, talking to his friend about Friday plans. When I questioned about his plans for today, he started telling me something other than that which he was talking about. I was confused so I blurted out, “I understood your Korean… what are you doing today?”
Turns out today wasn’t Friday, like I had originally thought.
Turns out I’ve been living one day ahead since Monday!!!
The realization of this was hilarious but honestly for the past several days I’ve been living my life as if it’s been one day ahead of what it actually is. Snickers laughed his head off at me, especially when he noted my agenda… yup, one day ahead since Monday. It felt funny realizing my mistake but it was kind of cool too in that it was as if I had gained a whole extra day – a spare day.
I had anticipated celebrating my “spare day” by being ultra-productive – weight training, running, taking Pacquioa to the vet and checking out some additional building sites. However, that morning coffee seriously kicked my butt. After one intense weight training session, I was left feeling like I was having crazy heart palliations so that was a bit freaky. Ended up chillaxin’ with my crew of 16 (16 legs… Pyen Chi, Balboa, Pacquiao, Snickers, and me) after doing some light errands.
It was a great “spare day”.
