As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Yesterday I launched the next Flipside Fitness event – ROBO Time Trial.  Here’s the posting I wrote for the Flipside Fitness Facebook page:
ROBO Time Trial
This weekend Flipside Fitness is hosting a ROBO time trial run. This time trial, like all time trial runs, isn’t a race but instead a starting point to help you figure out your running pace. If you’re a virgin to running, don’t worry. We’ll take it nice and slow for you and help you through it. It’ll be a 5km race, held at Dankook University by Flipside Fitness.
The plan is to meet either at Dankook University or the downtown Coffee Bean to head over to Dankook together. I recommend wearing layers and bringing some water. I’ll be the one timing you and watching over your stuff while you run. I’ll take you through some stretching and a light warm-up, then send you on your trial run. It’s not a race and there’s no competition except for that in your own head, so let’s really use this time trial to really kick off 2013. After our time trial we’ll be heading to Coffee Bean so pack a light post training meal.
The idea behind this time trial is to set up a small running group, matching participants up with other runners of similar times. Weekly runs will then be arranged and, as it stands, a midweek and weekend run will occur. Times and days yet to be set so definitely voice your preferences. This is for YOU so if you’re serious about making a change in your health and getting more active, than Flipside Fitness is ALL ears!!!

With our boxercise classes being temporarily put on hold, I want to keep the ladies of Flipside Fitness very much still connected to each other and with getting fit and staying healthy.  I figured many of them may be interested in running together, so the plan is to host weekly runs -- ROBO Runs.
