As I came out of the bedroom, there before me stood two Korean guys -- two friends of Snickers. An hour prior to this particular moment, Snickers had dropped word of me hosting a bowling event for Flipside Fitness to a friend on the phone. Next thing I knew it, he and his buddies were insisting I make it a guys against girls event.
Originally the event, Double Dare Bowling, was a mash up of the aged-old game "Truth, Dare, Double-Dare, Promise-to-Repeat" for my gals but after one too many convincing nags from Snickers, I agreed to let the boys in on it. Team Hulk, featuring Snickers as their leader and three other Korean guys, vs Team Flipside Fitness.
"You're going down!" I told the two guys who stood there in my family room. "Down... where?" questioned one. "Oh don't you worry, we'll show you where!!!" I joked and with that I headed out the door to get my team and head off to the bowling alley for this boys vs. girls competition.
As Team Hulk went about bowling, us (Team Flipside) bowled too but at the end of every frame, two people were selected to pick a truth, dare, double-dare, promise-to-repeat card. The lowest scoring person for that particular frame had to do a card and then the highest scoring person got to pick one person to do a card. I stuck to doing the truth cards because being the creator of all the cards, I knew the silliness of the others. Picking a double-dare card involved having to do something extra daring that involved someone else, a random stranger. They were embarrassing but super hilarious things and in picking a double-dare card it meant you got to give a dare card to another participant.
Here's some of the cards I had typed up:
Truth
- What was the nastiest joke you ever played on someone?
- What is your worst habit?
- What is the most embarrassing thing you've done till now?
If you were marooned on an island with just one person, who would you want it to be?
I got this question. The girls said I wasn't allowed to pick Snickers so I picked my father. He's a Jack of all trades kind of man that has always been at the top of my favourite people list, so he'd definitely be who I'd take!
If you got a chance to make anyone in this room your slave, who would that be?
I picked Cutie-C because, well as the name implies, super cute. Usually she's the one all my male Korean friends comment about because she looks really young and has such a sweet, smiley face. Today one of the Team Hulk members was all eyes on her, it was hilarious. He kept on motioning for both Snickers and I to ask her for her number. I have her number, of course, but I can't just go about giving to people like that. Later in the evening, I got details from Snickers. After the game, Team Hulk went out to an arcade and Cutie-C's admirer from the team went on and on about her. Snickers said it was so adorable. "Did you see her smile?... her smile is so great!" he had repeatedly said to Snickers. I don't know this particular guy so well but I know he's a sweetheart. I remember a story Snickers once told me about him, from back in the day. Mouse Doctor and this guy had a bit of a falling out one day when Mouse Doctor in his bad-boy old days was seen fighting some girl. Cutie-C's admire stepped in to stop Mouse Doctor and, in doing so, Mouse Doctor turned on him and laid a beating on him. He's always tried hard to stick up for the weaker person, to be a gentleman, so perhaps I will help fix him up with Cutie-C... setting up a friend on a blind date is on my 2013 Bucketlist, hmmm....
If you woke up one day and you had become invisible, what is the first thing that you would do?
If I woke up as an invisible lady, I'd definitely use my power for evil and by that I mean I'd use my power to play a prank on Snickers. I'd probably move random things around the house, to mess with him a bit, and then spook him by whispering in his ear when he's in the bathroom or something... hahaha. He's always trying to scare me and the closest I've ever come to scaring him was hiding in the house late at letting him think something happened to me, hence why I'm not home and not answering the phone.
Dare
- Tell the next person that walks by that they’re pretty.
- Do some of the Hokey Pokey.
- Exchange a clothing item with the player on your right.
- Give a piggyback ride to the player on your left.
- Moonwalk across the room.
- Bust out your best boxercise move!
Double Dare
- Act like a monkey.
- Lick the floor.
- Walk on all floors.
- Have five a stranger.
- Ask to take a picture WITH a stranger.
- Tell a guy he’s handsome.
Promise-to-Repeat
- “영어 싫아요!” – I hate English.
- “천안 사랑해요!” – I love Cheonan.
- “외국인 많이 있어요!” -- There are so many foreigners!
Team Hulk ended up creaming us but that's ok. I think we had a heck of a lot more fun than them and the crowd at the bowling alley was definitely entertained by us. We had high fived one guy, made a full grown man blush, took a pic with another... I argue that they should have paid US to play there... hahaha. We were the party of the place, definitely!!!
Long after our event was over and the gals and I had parted our separate ways, talks of our event continued long into the late evening. Pictures of the Flipside Fitness popped up on Kakao Talk and Facebook via Team Hulk, there was a lot of buzz about the ladies and one jealous girl friend peeped up too. The event was a huge success and Team Hulk is already getting on me to host a rematch... too funny.
