As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Beach Bound but Still All about the Boxing

With our boxing club being located right smack dab in the middle of the water gun festival that went down today, it was next to impossible to get to and from our club without being shot.  Even some of our members who were in the area took refuge by our club doors.
Ended up escaping the massive water gun fight, relatively soak-free, and headed to one of my favourite spots in Cheonan -- the open traditional market.
Checked out a new shop that opened there.  It's a shop that had everything from the normal and expected to the strange and deranged, including pig ears and my all time favourite summer heat snack -- Ice Guy!!!
Ice Guy is basically a plastic container full of flavored ice chunks.  With only 10 calories per container but a whole lot of relief from the heat that it gives me, it's always been one of my go-to summer snacks.
Tonight, just as we were about to head out for the night, a special package got delivered for me -- my new Adipower Adidas boxing boots!!!  I was so excited, to say the very least.
It was beach-bound for us tonight as we packed our car and headed out of town for a midnight romantic ocean side BBQ, just the two of us.
Enjoyed some rather dangerous but amusing fireworks.
It was about midnight when we arrived but the place was booming.
Found a cozy little spot in the sand for some couple time.
And then we enjoyed a fabulously packed, fabulously delish beach side BBQ, courtesy of our sponsor's restaurant who had put this together for us.
We didn't eat all the food that was packed in the box but what a feast we had!
And then after feasting and enjoying the ocean side view, we slept off our food coma.
Went to bed around 3am only to wake up around 5:30am and head back to Cheonan.
I had training to get back to and sparring.
