There's her village, nestled right in the middle of those mountains.
Among the mysterious places in Granny Kim's village, this river that flows right in front of the entrance way sports it's own spooky story of a particular lady who drowned here. Leave it to Snickers to stop here every single time, right in the middle of this bridge, and ask me if I see her.
There's always new and old interesting things to toy around with at Granny Kim's, like the veggies that have recently sprouted and an old shovel our belated Grandpa Kim once mad.
There's an indoor bathroom but we often still use the old school outhouse out back because that's where we "have to do a number two", as Snickers says. There's also a former animal shelter. It now stored extra crates, garlic and onions but not too long ago Granny Kim had a pet goat -- Billy-G. I loved that ugly little goat.
Within Granny Kim's little village is a small activity centre that acts as a school for its senior citizens.
It's in this small centre that Granny Kim takes classes, to relearn some skills she once knew but lost because she never used, like reading. I think I can read Korean better than Granny Kim but that little lady kicks my butt in speaking.
There's Granny Kim with her peers. She's the cutest one and probably the smallest too.
A trip to Granny Kim's place isn't complete without bringing up the haunted house next door.
Today was the first time ever, since I first heard about this place over 5 years ago, that I ever ventured onto its property and into the house.
Granny Kim lives in Buyeo and just recently they've built this massive outlet mall. Buyeo is also the site of the next new Lotte World (an amusement park) and so it's really making a shift from being an out-of-sight-out-of-mind country city to bringing in tourest and travelers from all around. Today we checked out the outlet.
This is what's in the center of the mall -- a traditional style sitting area.
It definitely contrasts with the overly modern style of the rest of the mall but perhaps that's what makes it all the prettier.
And then there's some modern day art, like this windmill tree.
A massive Adidas outlet store caught my eye and my love for Adidas meant I just had to go in and check it out.
...and here I thought the saying was "Adidas is all in", apparently I was wrong but based on the awesome deals at this particular Adidas outlet store, I'm definitely all in too.
The plan is to return here next week, bring friends and bring money.
