With the splitting up of my training because of the addition of my outdoor morning run, my days are packed with lots of extra eating and a much needed morning nap time. Currently on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, I run my 9.5km route to Dankook University and back. The weekend is when I do my long run though I haven't yet mapped out an exact route out in Asan by that lake Snickers and I discovered the other week. The plan is to get out there this Sunday and run it. On Wednesdays, Fridays and one weekend day I don't run and Friday is my day off of all training -- running, boxing, and weight training.
The Usual Breakdown of my Mon/Tue/Thurs:
8:00am -- wake up and have MEAL 1
9:00am -- RUNNING
10:00am -- return home, walk all the pups (individually I must add), and shower
10:30am -- MEAL 2
10:40am -- go back to sleep!!!
12:30pm -- wake up and start cleaning the club
1:30pm -- MEAL 3 (and finish cleaning)
2:00pm -- open Hulk's, morning coffee time with Snickers and plan crossfit class
2:30pm -- BOXING
3:20pm -- WEIGHT TRAINING
4:00pm -- shower and actually start working/coaching
4:30pm -- MEAL 4
7:00pm -- MEAL 5
9:30pm -- MEAL 6
11:30pm -- start the club laundry
12:00am -- close Hulk's (and sometimes go out for a MEAL 7 with main sponsor)
12:30am -- hang up all the laundry
2:00am -- bedtime
Today is a Thursday, my body feels that it's a Thursday like it always does every Thursday but I've got today, one more day, of solid hard training before I get my weekly full day off of training (Friday). So, on that note, I woke up early and headed out for my morning run. Usually I train legs on Tuesday so my day off running being Wednesday means my legs get a solid day of rest and recovery. However, this past week we launched the Hulk's Fitness Challenge and because I did it on Tuesday before my weight training it meant my legs were shot for training that day. I changed my legs day to yesterday, Wednesday, just for this week. My legs were absolutely jelly when I woke up today but a plan is a plan and I had planned to go jogging today. I made a deal with one of my sponsors and the deal was I have to clock in 40kms this week. I went running both on Monday and Tuesday and after today's run I'm officially at 30.84kms with my long run still to do this week so I'll be good to go for hitting this week's distance goal, sweeeeet!
Minor interruption here for a celebration...
Since returning to outdoor running, my goal has been to keep my pacing under 5:20mins/km and today, despite the jelly legs and all the excuses I could have leaned on to take it slow and to skip my run entirely, I hit the path and killed my goal.
9.56kms at 5:18mins/km... nice!!!
It was only a difference of two seconds per kilometre that differentiate between hitting my goal and not but considering the intense leg workout my workout buddy and I did yesterday and the fact that he didn't even show up for training with me today because he was that sore from yesterday, I'll take it as a huge victory. My training partner ended up showing up today, much later, after I had done my boxing and weight training and long after he had milked up some rest and recovery for his legs, nice. He knew showing up late for training meant missing out on the "hell training" he says I put him constantly through. I gave him grief for that and he laughed. "I don't even know how I can even walk today," he noted.
