As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Training Hard to Be Hard in the Ring

I still consider it a bitter sweet situation, having Snickers be both my husband and coach, but I know no one else would or could ever push me as hard as he does and for that I am so incredibly thankful.
I remind myself of this every single day... EVERY day.
Sometimes I have to remind myself of this more than a couple of times. a couple of dozen that is.
Definitely had one of these moments today, getting angry during a run.
I headed out for my long run today and on the 12th kilometer I seriously thought I couldn't run any longer.  I felt a stitch coming on in my left side and was a bit dizzy, so I stopped for a moment, shook my head, changed my music, then screamed out at the top of my lungs and continued.
I did a 16km run, it was a painful one but I did it.  I may have crashed on the couch once I returned and felt like I was going to puke but I did it.  Mission completed.
